No. I trust Cerberus as far as I can throw Grunt.
You tried to throw grunt? That's the worst idea since trying to stop the Cole Train.

OT: I blew it up for a few reasons.
1: I like blowing shit up
2: I hate bug people
3: The Illusive man is a douche and there was no "tell him to shove it" option throughout the entire game up until that point.

Martin Sheen... yeah fuck that guy... can't trust anyone that has "The" and "Man" in their name anyway.

Blew it up all over its business.

Due to the whole "don't become the evil you're trying to defeat" thing. Also, the Illusive Man is so bloody smug, I can't bring myself to do something that he even remotely infers he would approve of.

My point was primarily, why could a single Ship, thats destroyed by a far smaller (advanced as it might be, the normandy is out of the class of a real cruiser, but we'll see how big the normandy III gets), and thats seriously threatened by the automatic defense of a colony, wreak that much havoc among human colonies, without lets say your average alliance military patrol blowing the bloody ting to dust?
Because Joker and EDI.

and Plot Armour.

Just run with it man, watching the Normandy blow the Collector Ship up was awesome. Don't ruin that for us :(

I blew that Station to kingdom come. It'd be more trouble than it's worth, especially in the hands of the Illusive Man. That and it just seemed the right thing to do, i'm a sucker for doing the right thing.

I think if they write the Illusive Man properly he won't be stupid enough to try and use force to take over the galaxy. Simply fighting off the Reapers would be more than enough to garner the love of all of the important races. It wouldn't even be worth the effort of trying to fight off every single sapient race in a power grab when the council and the alliance have demonstrated that they are inept. In the aftermath it should be fairly easy to take over because these two groups will have discredited themselves through inaction in the last two games. Besides even if Illusive Man is dumb enough to try and fight his way to human dominance Cerberus is not that large a group, without something that could nuke planets or a wide range form of indoctrination Cerberus would be crushed by the sheer number of non-humans all lining up to kill them.

But knowing Bioware Illusive Man has probably already been indoctrinated. I would actually rather see Illusive Man not simply be the "white devil" incarnate since most people seem to think that is what he is.

Edit: I'm definitely going the two save route.

I haven't seen anyone discussing this:
There is the possibly that Shepard dies in ME2. Does this mean he will be brought back again (unlikely) or that a new hero is going to be introduced in ME3. Or we can play all of the third game as a member of the old crew (unlikely as well, but a cool thought).
From what I've heard, if Shepard dies in ME2, you won't be able to import that save into ME3. You must have Shepard still alive to import, otherwise you play a default Shepard like in ME2 if you don't import.
Wouldn't that still suggest the possibility of a new hero in the third game?

As sexy and persuasive as Martin Sheen's voice is, it just doesn't feel right to let Cerberus even come close to that power (yes, technically Shepard still controls it, but the minute (s)he's no longer useful. Bam!)

Mr President can go to Hell - I never trusted him, and that lecture he gave to me afterwards proved my distrust.

"It can help us dominate the Reapers, and beyond."

He's a racist - a well intentioned racist, but a (dangerous) racist nonetheless.

Finished it half an hour ago by the way. A truly amazing game.

I blowed all that crap up.

I personally would have done it, I believe, so I stuck with my gut.

Then I told the Illusive man to fuck off. Love his voice, but he shouldn't have a go at me if he wanted me to be alive. He knew I was a good guy.

I had several reasons. The main being I didn't think we needed it that badly. Me and my alien buddies did just fine with out, and as people say knowing the average sci fi plot....
Also Martin Sheen fucked with me, you fuck with the Shepard and shit get's blown up. Im coming for you Marty YOU MADE MY LIST!
I'm gonna reinstall Mass Effect though, I wasn't happy with the human dominated council, led by the ambassador twat, I'm not pro human I'm pro sentient life, and I want to make sure the Rachni are alive. Between them, the Krogan, and hopefully the Geth backing up the council and alliance the reapers wont find us easy pickings.

Nah, the hero will still be Shepard, it just will be a different Shepard to the one you made playing ME1&2.

If the Reaper IFF was able to f*** up the Normandy as badly as it did, I'd hate to imagine the potential of the Collectors Base to screw things up. Also, I don't like Cerberus's agenda.

I blew it up.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'll go cry about losing Thane.

... Why?... Why did you had to stick your head out... why? OH GOD WHY?

Everyone in your crew needs to die in order for Shepard to die so introducing a new hero is a big possibility if that happens. Resurrecting Shep a 2nd time would be stupid.

I don't care tho. I managed to destroy the Human-Reaper larva and get all my crew safely back on the Normandy so that we can put plan "POWER THE SHIP AND GET US THE FUCK OUT OF 'ERE BEFORE IT BLOWS" in action.

I also gave Martin Sheen a big "Fuck you" when I talked to him at the end. Having an awesome voice and looking hot isn't enough to justify handling him a weapon of mass destruction. Besides, his arrogance at the end pretty much said what his words couldn't: "I want to take over the galaxy. No, I fucking want to take over the Galaxy. UNDERSTAND ALREADY THAT I WANT TO TAKE OVER THE GODDAMN GALAXY!"
