throughout the WHOLE game, I was sure one of the final levels was going to be shutting down EDI after she took control of the ship. I saw the AI core, I saw that EDI was corrupted by the Collectors.. and then EDI took over the whole ship in that mission with Joker.. I was POSITIVE that we'd be fighting EDI to get control of the ship back.

Considering how often Joker predicts that, it was obvious the evil-AI thing was gonna be more of a running gag than a real threat. You've probably played too much Portal or watched Space Odyssey if you got that vibe.

"I just love the sight of humans on their knees."

The look on Joker's face was priceless.

I'm so glad they didn't make EDI into a HAL. It's such an overdone homage.

I wonder if theres some sort of fail-safe system thingy on the Normandy since after you blow up the station and tell the Illusive Man to get fucked, I was under the impression you basically stole it Muahahah. Wait no fuck that, the Normandy was/is mine how can you steal something that BELONGS to you?

ALSO: Anyone kinda put off about the whole "Normandy being rigged with bugs and surveillance equipment" thing? I have the worst feeling the Illusive Man will black mail me with footage of Miranda and I on the engineering deck. Me: "Cmon Ash you said it yourself, Cerberus can't be trusted, they're a bunch of liars! That simply isnt me in the video!"

Cerberus is the only group that seems to NOT have their head buried 10 feet up their own asses.

yeah, it would have been caddy, but I knew in my head it was going to happen. Prior to getting all of the characters, seeing all of the rooms that were offlimits I was sure there'd be some sort of "retake the normandy from the AI threat scene".. it's a tired trope, but AI is a truly dangerous thing in the mass effect world. If you read the books or the Codex, it's THE most dangerous thing. In the whole galaxy. Every EDI inevitably becomes Skynet.

And although it didn't happen, the idea of it did give me my biggest laugh in the entire game:

"I can just imagine it now "This is all Jokers fault.. he plugged in the overlord!" There, it's done."
"Thank you Mr Moreau. Now, please go to Engineering. The entrance to the vents is in the corner of this room."
"Aww man, you want me to crawl through the ducts again?"
"I love the sight of humans on their knees."
"........."
"That was a joke."

I laughed so hard at that part.

First time the based was saved, my renegade, with almost equal paragon and renegade points, hey he does whatever it takes to win.

Second time, with my Paragon I blew that base to the closest event horizon, then went back to the citadel to say I had quit from Cerebus and the option never arose, or cruel torment of Bioware games!

No. I trust Cerberus as far as I can throw Grunt.
As the station was blowing up, I had to slide and catch Grunt before he dropped off the ledge...how the hell can a human catch a krogan with one arm?
Shepard's got all them implants and shit.

Keep in mind he head-butted the shit out of that one Krogan during Grunt's loyalty mission. I'm pretty sure the average human would break their face if they tried that.
True, there's that, plus the fact Shepard's able to survive poisoning by a batarian bartender. The fact that that's even possible means Shepard's capable of doing things now he wasn't in Mass Effect 1.

For example, you remember when you got the option to punch that reporter in ME 1? She didn't look very bruised or anything at the time, did she? But if you do it again in ME 2, you can clearly see her face is slightly bruised and she has a bloody nose, showing Shepard's physical strength has apparently doubled.

No way in hell that was put into the game without some meaning behind it. It raises a few questions about the old Illusive Man, doesn't it?

I blew the shit out of Harbinger's Collector base.

It's true that a desire to keep it out of Cerberus' hands was part of the decision, but the main reason was because it seemed like keeping it around would just be asking for bad stuff to be happening.

Either humanity would start meddling with technology we weren't ready for (and another Contact War type thing seems like a bad idea when the Reapers are around the corner), or the Reapers would have a surprise in store for whoever would dare poking around in the base. As was made evident earlier, not even a dead Reaper is safe to be around.

Plus, I'd take defeating the Collectors as a sign of that we might just stand a fighting chance as long as we get our collective thumbs out of our asses and start preparing for the coming invasion.

There's no option for "I reloaded and created two end-game files".

EDIT:

I destroyed it.

If Cerberus are trying to preserve humanity isnt taking it and building it with more humans counter productive?

I destroyed it. That place was bad news.

I imagine it will come back to bite you in the ass in ME3 if you preserve it.

I saved it. However, if I get the chance in ME3 then I'm putting a bullet between Martin Sheen's eyes. At the end conversation with him I basically told him to "fuck right off."

EDIT: I suppose I also saved it for the chance to maybe take control of it (or the technology there in) in ME3. Or, I could use it as bait for the collector armada (seen in the last moments of the ending cut scene) then, when they least expect it, BOOM!

I think Martin Sheen is interested in the tech that is inside the base more than building more reapers. I still don't trust him though.
