So, what did you guys and gals think about the relationship choices in ME2 and who did you choose? On a side note, would you have had a relationship with Kasumi if given the chance?

I personally couldn't find myself to cheat on Ashley, but I would probably have had a relationship with Kasumi in a different playthrough.

..If i had a relationship it'd have been with Tali. And not because I'm one of those people who is like "ZOMG TALI IS SEXY AND DIFFERENT SO MUST BE LOVE HOLY SHIT OMG OMG OMG" ...She just fit what I look for >.> Miranda is a ***** and her face is just completely offputting, Ashley is stupid, and I never thought about the rest >_> I haven't done many relationships in Mass Effect, wasn't in my character. Tali had the most..um..unexaggerated character flaws. So she seemed more normal...other than being an alien.

Have a relationship with Kasumi?

I would *DESTROY* her.

lol, not really, I just really wanted to say that once in my cold miserable life.

None of them. To be perfectly honest, I never liked any of the Mass Effect romances because they felt so forced. I just find it hard to believe that these characters could foster such strong feelings after about 2 conversations (that's all it takes to bang some of the characters in ME2). I just wanted to be friends with them instead. Which sucks, since a lot of the characters have almost no dialogue for those that don't romance them. Maybe that's one of the reason I like Mordin and Legion so much; they both have large amounts of dialogue regardless of you relationship choices.

And, you know, wanting to commit genocide on an entire species.

That's not what I would call normal.

I stuck with Ashley. Many reasons: one being that I was already in a non existent relationship with one fictional character and I couldn't start chatting up another fictional character, it would make my make believe love life far too complicated.

Another reason being, non of the others really hit my magic 'impressed' button, the only one that came close was Jack and even though she got the silver ultimately Ashley still goes for gold. If I had to pick one from Mass Effect 2, it'd be Jack but since I had to option to stick with Ash, I did.

Finally I just liked Ashley and much like the OP couldn't bring myself to pick a different character when she seemed like the perfect match for my vision of Shepard. Sure there was tension now but hey, it makes the trilogy more interesting if the main hero has only one woman.

Plus it makes the hero himself more sympathetic if just before the mission he looks at the picture of his star crossed lover, rather then just go and get laid. It gave the scene more emotion that way, I felt anyway.

So yeah, to summarize, stuck with Ashley through the whole game and will probably continue to do so, but if I were going to pick another it would be Jack.
But still, Ashley for the win.

lol at her manjaw. It's awful. I don't even have to say which one and everyone will know exactly who i am talking about.

on topic, i actually thought Shepard should have had a shot at that vampire asari chick. Can't remember her name, but i figure he lives through crap that kills everyone else all the time, I don't see how throwing another onto the pile is really that much of a stretch of the imagination.

Well, I'm one of those retarded human beings that actually like the thought of monogamy and true love and such, so I remained faithful to my dear Kaidan. Plus my chats with him in ME1 actually made me like him more than any of the other NPC's (with the possible exception of Garrus).

Let's just hope it actually pays of...

I stuck with Liara. What can I say, I like blue girls.
Besides, my Shepard is female and I had no interest whatsoever in chatting up any of the male teammates. Now, maybe if Tali or Miranda had been interested in the ladies... but I suspect I would have stayed with Liara anyway.

Well, I cheated on Liara with Jack.

I know it's gonna come back and bite me on the ass somehow.

I just hope that it'll be Jack doing the biting. >:3

I didn't really like any of the options for female characters. Garrus is cool but there really wasn't a romance option there, just a "hey lets have fun" sort of thing. I personally stuck with my ME1 relationship... Rather depressing when he chewed me out.

I like Miranda's wide eyed innocence from the first game (although she went a little dark for 2). Still, she's the best match for my paragon Sheperd to remain eternally devoted to.

Really evil Shepard cheated on Ashley with Jack, nhe's a jerk though so it never suprised me.

I've actually made enough character variations with slightly different choices from the first game to this one to have pretty much all possible relationship scenarios covered, from a grieving Sheperd who lost Ashley and almost sleeps with Tali then backs out because he's not ready to a shocking variety of potential love triangles between various characters. Even had a former lesbian Sheperd get "converted" by Garrus!

My Jane Shepard stayed true to her first love. Hopefully it will give me some brownie points or something in ME3.

I am with Liara. Now I didn't do that for monogamy reasons or whatever, I just simply wasn't particularly interested by the ME2 characters. Tali was interesting, but more as a friend than anything, I couldn't see myself actually going for that if I were actually in that situation.

In addition, even though I think humans are inherently polygamous, I know the developers would make a new relationship screw me over in ME3 so I decided to go with Liara and stay with her.

Also, definitely agree with Vrex360. I tried the other romances with other characters and frankly, i'm disappointed. None of them had the same feel as ME1 and the wistful scene was definitely the most engaging.

I went with Miranda in ME2. Didn't bother too much with romancing, but I often talked with Miranda to learn about her history. Since I was playing as a super nice guy one thing led to another.

Tried getting Tali to be my... special someone, though. I didn't think it was possible in the first game since they have to be in those closed envieroments all the time, but I noticed in some FAQ that you could.
I didn't manage it though, in spite of talking to her every chance I got and helping her with her problems!

Hold up, guys, let me activate my mystical powers of precognition.
Hmm. Mm, uhuh. Oh, I see. Yeah. Thought so.
Tali in the lead forever.

I went for Jack first time through just to get the bloody achievement. Then I did my proper playthrough and rejected the fuck out of everybody.
I let Ashley die in the first game BTW SPOILER LOL specifically so I didn't have to pursue that romance to fruition. I have decided in my special personal mindstory that my Sheperd is all angsty about it, even if he doesn't seem all that torn up about it even slightly.

I have remained faithful to Kaidan in all but one play through (and that was because I want to experience as many story arcs as possible in ME3) And I am fairly confident that BioWare will deliver. I go on the BioWare SN and the devs and employees do interact a fair bit with the community. I messaged Jesse Houston a little while ago and he was kind enough to reply and assured me that BioWare certainly haven't forgotten Kaidan or Ashley and said he wished he could tell me more.... He was very pleasant :)
