Yes, but only if it was substantial and wasn't just a dating dlc. Like maybe some missions relating to your date and their past? Couldn't be too pricey either

I'd buy it if it allowed the option for Fem-Shep to romance Legion. Otherwise, no.
This.. win.
I'd love a romance with Legion. By far the coolest character BioWare has ever made.

ps sorry for double post.
If romancing Legion ends in the same way all other romances do... does that mean that Shepard had sex with an entire race? :O

Well, seeing as how all geth are connected.. I guess, in a weird way, yes. By 'sleeping' with Legion, you are screwing the entire geth race.
Hmm.. interesting.
And practically problematic. Do robots have genitalia ?

The option for more hilariously awkward dialog while trying to bed another character in a Bioware game? Nah, no thanks.

No, they just form large consensuses on thier hard drives.

The entire Geth race would know about your sex life however. Would be kinda awkward if you ever went to the Geth homeworld.

Yeah, but at the same time you'd know you shagged every girl in the room...

I would if it was done right. I don't consider Mass Effect to have romance options at all right now, some flirting and a one night stand doesn't make it a romance. Baldur's Gate 2 had romance options. In that game you truly got to know the person, you didn't just get someone to shag before you went into a suicide mission. The characters and the character development is what made Mass Effect 2 great, more of that is hard to turn down. Besides, you spend 80% of the game just breaking through Mirandas shell, you only just start getting to know the real her when the game ends. Hopefully you'll learn more in the third game, but I'm afraid we won't.

Yeah, if you're "dates" descend into fighting robots, then maybe.

For me, if this had come out right with the game, I might have. But after completing the romance subplot, my video-game-character crush on Tali has like completely died away.

Of course not! No cheating allowed! ;)

But if you were someone new to the series, they could say the background was Kaidan/Ashley worked with Shepard, and nothing more. I only say this because I got the impression that you could not bring Shepard forward in the series to ME3 unless you kept Shepard alive in 2.

It's all a little confusing to me though. I probably won't have it all straight in my head until I actually play 3 and see what they meant.
Apparently they are dealing with over 1000 carry over choices for 3 (there were 700 for 2)! :-O
I agree that players playing 3 first would benefit greatly from a bit of the Kaiden love ;-)
Wouldn't everybody? ;)

1000 carry over choices? I didn't even realize there were that many, but I suppose if you take all those from the first one and add the ones from 2... wow. It's going to be interesting to say the least.

Yes, BUT only if it was something more substansial than a "date night". If it were some sort of mission for you're particular romance or added new interactions with your LI (and maybe even with previous ones as I'm pretty sure alot of people out there would love to se how their LI from ME1 reacts when they find out about LI from ME2, I know I would! :p ) then I would consider buying it. But a date DLC isn't worth buying.

One of my favourite things about Bioware games is the strong sense of emotional attachment they invoke through the friendships and romances. I may or may not have angrily slammed my laptop shut, stomped up the stairs, took a Ben&Jerry's from the fridge and plonked down in front of the tv to watch Ghost after Alistair in Dragon Age broke up with me.

Any dlc which expands upon the bonds you make in Mass Effect would be welcome to me. Wuv my precious little lizard man Garrus <3 He deserves to be wined and dined though I think if he got to pick the location it's a 50:50 chance of being a shooting range.

Fuck no.

Walk here. 'Press A to pour drink.'

'Press A to give drink to Miranda'

'Press A to engage in awkwardly animated sex scene'
Heavy Rain The Sex Scene.
There is one in Heavy Rain, well I got one, lol I had to undress her, they didn't make me full out simulate the sex with the controller though so that was a relief

(please can you show me some mercy by not angrily responding to this statement with 'WTF ASHLEY IS RACIST HOW CAN U FIND HER LIKABLE?!'... and just accept that I like Ashley as a character... like just this once? Please?)
I didn't think Ashley was a racist: I just thought she was a b****.

Kaiden at least had a reason to be whiny: so I wound up saving him all the time during that one mission and leaving Ashley to go KABOOM!
Respectfully I disagree, it's worth remembering Ashley's family has some bad history what with her grandfather being the first human general to surrender to an alien army and thus her family name is black listed.
She just sort of feels a responsibility to her family name and as a result pushes herself really hard in the hopes of redeeming her family's past mistakes. That's also the reason why she has a grudge against the Citadel Council, that and she's seen the way humans get pushed aside there.
That said, as the game progresses and especially after Virmire (right after she happily works with the Salarians thus disproving a few accusations of racism) she sort of starts to 'come around' become a little more agreeable about working with aliens.
So while I can certainly understand why she may have seemed bitchy, but to me at least she was an interesting well developed character... hence to me there was no need to go after anyone else in Mass Effect 2, the series already had a good leading lady in my eyes.

Besides, for me nothing's better than a hot chick with a laser assult rifle.....

That's why I never considered Ashley the rascist everyone calls her. She doesn't have an irrational fear/hatred of aliens. She has a perfectly rational reason to distrust them. I'd also agree she's a very well written character, no "super-serious-badass-action-girl" or eye candy for the males. Just a believable, flawed but ultimately likeable character.

Edit: Looking at the polls is interesting, we literally have a perfect split.

"Romance package"? Good God! Weapons, armor, and a tank are one thing, but a "romance" pack? Come on, Bioware, don't do that to us--there's enough crappy fanfiction floating around the 'net as it is.

Depends. Liara is the main one I want for the DLC, but I'd consider paying something for additional with Tali/Miranda. Not much, mind you, but something.
