No.

Seriously, no.

Honestly, multiplayer can go die in a fire. We have plenty of multiplayer games. If you feel like there aren't enough multiplayer games to play, and you decide that Mass Effect might need one, then there may be something wrong with you.

Seriously, there is at least 100 playable MMOs and an untold number of multi-player games to play. Play those. I wouldn't support $1 of Bioware's ME budget going into multi-player. So absurd. You don't "Get your money's worth." with tacked on fecal mult-player, you actually lose out

This is really one of the bigger problems with gaming today, and anyone that supports it is usually young and doesn't understand the complexity of the situation, or is just a selfish nitwit.

I honestly don't care, as long as BioWare doesn't spend so much time on it that the single player suffers.

NAY! Nay I say!

If someone threatened me and made me choose, I would say co-op only. Then spit in their face and still scream NAY!

I think one of my personal nightmares involves me trying to romance Jack while a fat pimply faced teenager from America yells "U so Gay niggah" over the headset...

Not every game needs multiplayer. However this is EA and they seem to want everything multiplayer now. I remember the day I heard Dead Space 2 was having multiplayer and I died a little inside. More people = less scare factor surely.

And at any rate, how would they handle it? Would it be Call of Duty style set health, weapon and character kind of multiplayer or bring your own leveled up team and gear multiplayer like say World of Warcraft? If they are going to add it, they'll have to decide which route and stick with it. Multiplayer will either bring the ME community together, or split them completely.

Multiplayer added on to ME will be too obvious a gimmick. Although I could fantasize for days how biotics and tech abilities could be used to vary combat styles in multiplayer I'd prefer resources poured into their amazing singleplayer experience because the multiplayer will likely day within a few months because it isn't an already established MP franchise.

If it had to have a multiplayer then a co-op mode like splinter cell would be my choice. The story for it should be something like you work for a P.M.C. company. It would be made up of a campaign mode,(6-8 missions with all but the last one not having to do anything with the story. The last mission would be fighting off the collectors while on earth and end with you blowing up a reaper.) Invasion mode,(basically horde mode from gears, you can choose to fight tougher and increasing waves of geth, husks, collector, pirates or a combination of any of them.) and vs(1v1, 2v2, or 1v2 in a match to see who can earn the most points. You kill a enemy geth, husk, collector, or pirate you get a point you kill a rival you get 3 points your rival kills you, you lose 2 points) You can choose to be any alien species from the story and a class each with a unique strength and weakness. You can also customize your mercenary with different armor and weapons you get with credits you earn from playing.

If Assassins creed: brotherhood's multiplayer turned out good who's to say this couldn't. Of coarse it's still a rumor they'll add it to the final product.

While I haven't played AC:B I heard the multiplayer reviews are REALLY mixed.

Fuck off, multiplayer. Leave my beloved space adventure alone.
What Miracle said! ^ Mmmmhmmmm!
Honestly, I couldn't care less for multi player in Mass Effect, ME3 is the conclusion of a trilogy - adding multi player is pointless, annoying and most importantly superfluous.
If BioWare decide to cater to a third person shooter multi player audience, fine by me. If they want to do it in the ME universe, also fine by me. If they involve my Shepard then it's torches, pitchforks and the AA route planner to Edmonton!
And that's all I have to say about that.............

Some people might, but I certainly won't.

It's Mass Effect, it's a single player space opera epic. End of story.

I like that you included an "indifferent" option. I really don't care if online multiplayer exists... I just won't use it.

Co-op LAN might be fun... but implementation would be a pain on the developer's end. Especially since they make most of their sales on consoles... and I play these games strictly on PC.

Jenova put it far more eloquently than I, but I agree with every syllable of every word in that post bar none! NO MULTI IN ME3! (yes, I'm drunk again)

I love the hypocrisy in this thread.

Oh, a single player game with tacked on multiplayer is alright, as long as it doesn't take away from the story. But god forbid anyone make a multiplayer focused game.

I wouldn't really care. I probably wouldn't play it, though. I haven't even finished the first Mass Effect, so by the time I get to 3, the servers will be empty.

Nay,definitely Nay

ME is about Shepard and the choices he/she alone must make.Having a second person tag along would ruin that
they co-op person could maybe take control of one of Sheperd's team, like control Jack (or whoever the team members will be in ME3)
I think co-op wouldn't be bad, tho multiplayer would be horrid. Mass Effect's combat style is NOT suited for multiplayer; it'd be annoying and boring as hell

i don't think a multiplayer focused game was whats in question o_O. ME has always been single player focused, the very idea to try to make ME3 multi player focused would be insane.

Nay. Even if I don't like Mass Effect, I can recognize that it needs to stay single player. That being said I went out and bought ME 2 today to motivate me to beat 1.
