Japanese for sure. I'm a huge Armoured Core fan. Cookie for anyone who can identify this Mech's name and pilot.

That is the most awesome Japanese mecha I have ever seen.tobi the good boy said:Japanese for sure. I'm a huge Armoured Core fan. Cookie for anyone who can identify this Mech's name and pilot.

It's funny because it's awesome, and because it's a parody of japanese mecha.SomeLameStuff said:American.
Really. Megas is THAT awesome.
Pretty sure Gundamium alloy is only a concept that exist in Gundam Wing. The UC timeline (Each timeline really has their own explanation for how the Gundam are special ... seed had the phase shift armor, 00 has the GN drive system, G had ... never mind G) has completely different background for how stuff works in their world like Minovsky particle which I believe is the basis of their weapons, engine and pretty much everything else. Heh, I could go on why the UC timeline is the only one that matters, but I will stop here. [hint - it's the only one that feels balanced in a lot of ways).Fiz_The_Toaster said:Well I'd argue the practical point in that if you're fighting other mechas, or a rather large army, their designs, I argue they do matter, make more sense since they can maneuver faster, even though they don't seem to handle much abuse. Unless they were made out of gundamium alloy, then that's a whole other topic.Soviet Heavy said:Graceful yes, practical? No. Generally, fifty foot tall humanoid shapes made out of several tons of metal are not practical, regardless of the design.Fiz_The_Toaster said:Snipped for pic

First point, I know that gundamium alloy is only used in Gundam Wing, but I did say that that's a whole other discussion, and I really do wish that stuff existed. I don't really remember what the other gundams were built with to be honest, I know it's something simple, but I'll be damned if I remember what it was. I agree though, the UC timeline is the only one that matters.cainx10a said:Pretty sure Gundamium alloy is only a concept that exist in Gundam Wing. I wouldn't call the Gundam impractical in the world it exists. The Gundam or rather, the Mobile Suits in the show are akin to exoskeletons. Why bother with a tank when you can have a giant humanoid stomping on them like tin cans? The Gundam just happen to be an experimental model that contains the best tech found in its respective era, a darpa project that is often too expensive to be sent to the production line, that's why you end up with the MS series of GMs which look like a gundam but is as weak (armor wise) as a Zaku or if you prefer, a Leo.
OT: I prefer Japanese mechas since there are more Tv show(anime), video games and other medias with mechs available than on the western side. I am not into spending money to get into Warhammer unfortunately, I already spend enough on those Japanese products.
Gundam Extreme Vs. (PS3/Capcom) is going to be awesome.
Because I find it unfair to judge a single country's work against an entire hemisphere. Giving Japan two competitors is no better, but it allows for debates that don't usually pop up, in this case 40K Mechs versus BattleTech Mechs.Doom-Slayer said:Not so sure what you mean by European styles, since I think its more Western vs Eastern.
Did the Grim Reaper get his own robot?Aethren said:Definitely gonna go with Japan on this one, though props to the Europeans.

Sadly it won't be localized. Importing it will cost around $100+ (shipping included etc ...), but worth it if you like Gundam.Fiz_The_Toaster said:Wait, that game....why haven't I heard of it?!
But....but....how could they not?! That looks like a lot of fun, and if I wasn't so broke right now I'd totally import it in.cainx10a said:Sadly it won't be localized. And I believe it's the first GvG being ported (from arcade) to a home console since the PS2 (Zeta Gundam vs Gundam) era. They are used to porting it to PSP.
That's how I felt for most of it, didn't really sympathize/empathize about most of them. However the mechs were awesome.FortheLegion said:While I enjoyed the setting of that book I wasn't fond of the the characters.mcpop9 said:![]()
I prefer Scott Westerfield's version of mechs.

They had awesome mechs though
