I wont be getting it, unless reviwers call it the greatest game of all time, or at least the decade.

Meanwhile, PC gamers are making a big deal about the whole "dedicated servers" issue. Me, not knowing a lot about PC gaming, would like to ask, why are dedicated servers so important to the community?
Because PC gamers are so used to having them that the thought of not having them even for one game breaks their little gaming equilibrium.
Listen mate, most people don't like when something they put a lot of money in gets destroyed. In this case it's Online PC gaming. Well, admittedly, they didn't destroy the multiplayer but they removed everything that makes PC gaming better than console gaming, which really gets on my nerves.

OT: Yes, I guess I'm getting it. I'll pirate it tho. Those guys made a huge dick move by raising the price and removing the server lists.

Not getting it for a while, not when Dragon Age is coming out. I would follow Bioware through the gates of Hell if they asked me

I'm getting it as a subscriber gift from Chief (a game magazine), so I'll get it somewhere in November. But I'm not a die-hard CoD fan that needs to get his hands on this game as soon as he/she can so this deal was pretty good for me.

I pre-ordered from Amazon before the price went up, so I'm getting it for £35, means I'll get it on release day. I really I want AC2 but MW2 costs more and won't go down in price for a lot longer time, it's cheaper for me to buy them in this order.

I always say with games "I won't buy it straight away" then get all excited and rush down to the shop and buy it on day one. But I like getting games when there is a lot of buzz about it and everyone is playing it, even though great games are still great years down the line.

And that ladies and gentlemen, is why developers treat PC gamers like shit.

Because you make no efforts to make yourselves not look like shit, so developers have no reason to change.

Kill the pirates, or at least make a deliberate, public statement that pirates are not accepted or liked by the PC gaming community, and you're almost 100% quarenteed a positive response from the developers. They're not going to gamble their hundreds of thosaunds of dollars of money against your $30-$70 without some effort on your part.

As for PC big advantage in servers? Its not really something to brag about - to coin an analogly:

Server lists are like an ice cream store that claims to have over 37 flavors of ice cream. However upn arriving at said store, you find it only 37 flavors of chocolate ice cream, with no other options than chocolate sprinkles (no lag) or no sprinkles at all (Lag).

Of course, the shop always has the ever touted "Player Content" grabbag, where you get to randomly pick a flavor, that while it isn't chocolate, will likely be some variant of "Shit", with the 1:1000000 chance that you'll get the "Not-shit" flavor, which almost invariable is just chocolate ice cream with chocolate chunks in it.

Yeah, thats some advantage you got there.

Wait, so you're blaming me for pirating it. Even tho I live in Serbia, One Euro is 93 Dinars, and I have so much money that I could probably buy two games every year. Plus they raised the price and removed the servers and by doing so made PC gamers furious. I actually made plans to save up money and buy the game but then BOOM!"No more servers for you blokes and we'll raise the price too! :D" said Activision/Infinity Ward/Whoever.

Also most player content is actually sweet, and if you know where to look you'll find some pretty awesome stuff.
Question: Do you actually play anything on the PC?

EDIT: Oh yeah, and even the "Shit flavours" are interesting.
EDIT #2: (Net broke) They risked piracy by doing what I already mentioned.

I can't believe you didn't find "Non-Shit" player made content for those games.

I don't want player content, I want developer content. Thats what I paid for, and want to see, not "surfing" maps and flaming penis and the umpteeth ballizionth remake of "X" map from Mario or Halo.

Couldn't care less about MW2. I played Modern Warfare, and it was alright - nothing truly spectacular. It felt like the same run/jump/shoot/duck behind cover affair in more-or-less linear environments that I've been playing since early teenage years. Unless MW2 proves itself to be something vastly different to that, its just a genre I've become bored with.

Thank you for managing to put into words exactly whats been in my head ever since the PC gamers started whining about no dedicated servers. For that, I applaud you.
