Well your attempt at a Biased poll blatantly backfired.

I think it would have been more effective to use reverse psychology.

MW3 will add another slight change to the same CoD4 formula which quite frankly everyone has played TO DEATH. They want something new, DESPERATELY. Not a few tweaks, something fundamentally different.
Its so blatantly biased I couldnt possibly have expected it to go my way ;)

Hey OP, Fox News called

They want their "obvious Bias" back.
Tell them to hold; Today Tonights already on the line

You're Australian too right? Buy your games online from ozgameshop or from a store in Europe. You will probably save $60-$100 because the retail prices here are absolute ripoffs. Then you can afford both games and everyone will be happy!

BUT THEN I'D BE AN UNAUSTRALIAN TRAITOR WHO DOESNT BUY AUSTRALIAN GOODS AND SUPPORTS OUR ECONOMY! A Current Affair Said so! :O
In seriousness, Im not into online buying shit. Amazon has been the death of stores like Angus and Robertson and Borders... And altho that probs wont happen, i prefer physically walking into a shop and getting stuff :) just a personal preference u understand :)

fair enough, but first take a look at this.
http://www.ozgameshop.com/xbox-360-games/call-of-duty-8-modern-warfare-3-game-xbox-360
http://www.ebgames.com.au/xbox360-153352-Call-of-Duty-Modern-Warfare-3-Xbox-360

I will enjoy many games while you pay double the retail price and support our greedy retail who, I remind you, are killing themselves with extremely overpriced stock. I know this is off the OT, but if the retail does not want to die, they need to look after their customers, not use us as their cash cow.
Current Affair and Today Tonight are biased, media attention whores anyway.

And just as a side note, you should know exactly who you are "supporting".
Most people will buy their games from EB games, which is the re-branded name of a very infamous franchise in America known as Game Stop. When you buy from EB, you are sending most of your money overseas to the owners of the Game Stop franchise.
Game Stop base their business on making money from used games. This business model is mostly damaging the gaming industry, not helping it. It means that developers do not see a cent from the sale of a used game, and thus they raise their prices to make up for lost profit, or add stupid codes for basic content to entice people to buy new games.
Worst of all, it discourages developers from creating new and innovative games. Instead, they rely on the same old formula that made money before, and just create a sequel so that people will get all hyped up and buy it brand new. These games are usually pathetically over priced and have no value or qualities that enhance the gaming experience (IM LOOKING AT YOU CALL OF DUTY, BATTLEFIELD, HALO)

While I enjoy the Battlefield games, Bad Company has always felt almost "last generation" to me. The first was unplayable online, and the second (while better online) removed all distinguishing features (health drugs, vehicle repair tool etc) to join the world of red screens & regenerating health. It looks like the third will take a huge step forward, but - beyond the shiny new graphics - I think they're still playing catch up. I hope to be proven wrong, it'd be nice for another good game in the genre, especially since you feel like more of a squad member in BfBC.

Quoting COD as the same game as MW is wrong. WAW and BO were both awful games IMO, and yet MW had decent AI, a good campaign (albeit I wish they were longer), and a solid multiplayer. I still play Mw2 online now, whereas I got rid of Black ops after a week.
I have enjoyed both Modern Warfare games, and since this is both a continiuation/conclusion to the enjoyable story and a more polished gameplay.

In the end I decided to preorder MW3 & put Battlefield 3 on my Lovefilm rental list to try first.

First off: how many people actually play FPS games for story these days?

Second: how many people play multiplayer-focused FPS games for story these days?
Every game I buy must have a good campaign. This includes shooters.
This.
I never touch online until I have played offline. If the game can't stand up on it's campaign mode it's not worth my time.

I look forward to seeing the main character die three times in the upcoming modern warfare, and for completely asinine reasons.

Frankly, the games look the same to me, except that BF3 is marginally shinier.

The reason why I would lean on Battlefield 3 is the larger maps and the possibility of more exciting teamplay.

I enjoy running and gunning or,alternatively, camping, as much as the next guy, but playing with friends is always fun.

Personally, teaming up with a buddy to pilot a helicopter gunship gets old less fast than running and gunning in the chaos of a Modern Warfare Team Deathmatch.

There is nothing really wrong with MW3, just that, again, for me, the chaotic multiplayer gets old. Battlefield, less so.

MW3 doesn't actually look that bad. But I'd rather choose the immense looking gameplay of BF3. Bad Company 2 was great fun thanks to the frostbite engine. Games need addictive gameplay rather than have a neatly wrapped story (if given a choice between the two).

They will both be awesome. But I'm just more excited for Battlefield 3 since I played the shit out of BF2, BFBC1/2.

MW started great, but now it's the posterchild of mediocrity, im afraid.

Battlefield 3, will be the superior game, as Bad Company 2 was superior to its MW equivelant. But sadly the vast majority of people are dolts and love themselves some mediocrity (Let's face it people, MW has been carbon copy after carbon copy milkingfest. Atleast the Battlefield series tries to improve or add something new each game).

Skyrim>BF3>MW3

What? Have you played Battlefield Bad Company 2? Y'know that game with Repair tools, medi-packs-ammo-packs and other class specific items?

Battlefield is far superior in every sense of the word, graphically, gameplay wise, team wise and just the general enjoyment that comes from playing such a beautifully designed game.

CoD, it just got boring, I've kept up to date with them and owned each game they've brought out and sunk a lot of hours into them, yet I keep returning to the battlefield games because it's got a better community and is so much more fun to play with friends.

the story in mw2 was terrible, it was just film ideas ripped straight from the source with barely any original plot.

I know nothing is original but some of the game actually resembled scenes and I could name all the films they ripped off too.

Whats going to happen in MW3? OMFG HERE COMES NORTH JAPANOREA CHINA NAZIS, LETS NUKE SOMEWHERE....AGAIN....ERGH A MAIN CHARACTER DIES OH NO. stay tuned for the next exciting £45 episode, Call of duty, Modern WARFOUR (which will be after COD:VIETNAM featuring vietcong zombies)

Dont get me wrong I like Modern Warfare 3 but I just dont think it's going to hold up against BF3 to be honest mainly because BF3 is showing off the new frostbite 2 engine whereas MW3 seems to be MW2 with more bombastic explosion filled action scenes
