Poll: Mortal Kombat Ninjas or Naruto Ninjas?

Well Joey, unless I'm mistaken Mortal Kombat ninjas can't summon giant animals.

Well Jonny, unless I'm mistaken Naruto Ninjas can't smash you to pieces with your own Skull and spinal cord.

I'm pretty sure some of the older ones could, but they wouldn't show that.
So my options are brutally beaten or get punched with lightning, experience nightmare worlds of pain, hacked in half with giant swords, eaten by massive animals, have my limbs fly off because a guy looked at me, get crushed to death by sand, get destroyed by an almighty wind powerful enough to destroy villages because a guy extended his arms forward etc...

practically, all the people who've played MK have either never watched Naruto or cared enough to compare the two, when seeing Naruto, it becomes painfully obvious who would win hands down
I mean god-like powers + practical immortality or humans with very limited fighting range along with ease of death in one-on-one matches

If you are talking about most realistic Ninja and we stripped away all the obvious super-powers then MK would win. Quite simply because actual real-life ninjas wouldn't move as fast and be able to jump as high as those shown in Naruto. The MK ninjas in this case win.

In terms of the way they act, I will take Scorpions vow for revenge on another clan far more realistic then that Naruto/Sakura/Sasuke love triangle emotion shit. Yes yes... there are vengeance story arcs and badassery in Naruto but it seems to mostly comprise of how they all 'feel'. MK on the other hand? "Shit there's an enemy. I'm going to go split him in half with my sword. I won't give him a chance to talk about his feelings."

yeah, even if they tried, Naruto still has eye-techniques that can paralyze enemies, some characters wouldn't even have to look directly into their eyes in order to achieve the same desired effect

If it's the first then I would go with both because they both sneak and what not besides Naruto. Then again, not everyone in Mortal Kombat is a ninja.

If it's the second then I'll have to choose the midgets who can summon giant animals, re-animate the dead, create natural disasters by putting their hands together and yelling one word and transform into demon things that self heal.

I was like wtf honestly how could people argue with like say even THE ENTIRE mortal kombat cast vs the nine tails for example. Or pain.
But yeh Mk ninjas are more " ninjary ".

People seem to be confusing Ninja's and demonic foxes for some reason.
Those people need a good thump on the head.
Also mortal combat on a whole is much stronger than Naruto FYI.

besides, if it's going to be about ninjas in some form or fashion, I'd prefer one with a complex storyline and the fact that every MK movie sucked only hurts them

Am i the only one that thinks that neither are 100% total ninjas? It's obvious how the Naruto Ninjas are not stealthy because of their loud obnoxious shouts but MK characters are not that much better in stealth. Seriously has any character in MK ever stealth-killed anybody? They would usually encounter their opponent and fight them in "Mortal Kombat" and fight to the death followed by a slow and very painful, gory and loud body ripping, ass-kicking fatalities. Beside the loud annoying sounds the Naruto Ninjas make, they kill their opponents with huge DBZ like attacks that could cause the next ice age.

But if i had to pick, i would say MK. Mostly because of some of their characters like Raiden who is a THUNDER GOD! And guys like Sub-Zero and Scorpion teaming up together is too much fan service XD.

I don't give a shit on who would win a fight against who, but I'm more personally affiliated with MK ninjas than Naruto ninjas...since they're better at presentation and aesthetics.

Though technically, the only "True Ninja" (Origin, blood, and skill) in Mortal Kombat is Hanzo Hasashi (Scorpion). And something that even a Naruto ninja can't beat so easily now that he's a ghost.

assassins are just a sub-job of what mercenaries or practically anyone could do - a skin-tight spandex (also in blinding bright colors) doesn't help either
and every time MK ninjas get hurt they yell out in pain (just as loud as technique calling in Naruto
and at least those kids could kick ass at ten-years-old

The story of Mortal combat is longer than the entirety of the Naruto manga of course it isn't going to fit into a movie that well.
Mortal kombat is set in modern times if you didn't notice and has many realms along with modern Earth.
Simply put Naruto is outnumbered massively while being out firepowered(nukes),along with magic strong enough to hurt superman who on a whole would kill Naruto with ease.
And don't even have me started on the true gods of MK.
There are more ninja's than that in Mortal combat they simply aren't named entire clans of them.

Your absolutely right, however I think you miss the most important thing. Ninjas are above and beyond everything else, masters of stealth. It is what allows them to perform the jobs they are given. If your job is that of assassin, its sort of hard to be successful at that task if you literally can be seen from miles away even in pure darkness, and sound like two bulls mating in a china shop. And how successful has any fighter in history ever been if they announce in advance what the attack they are going to perform.

Look, while MK "ninjas" are pretty goofed up and would likely not be effective... at least they are not the complete opposite of what they are supposed to be. Believe it!

MERCENARIES - do anything workers for money - stealth is not the main component of a mercenaries' job - assassins and spies mayhaps, but as a whole, not mercenaries! Believe it!
Besides, I've never seen any MK ninja use stealth, they've always been involved in tournaments while Naruto ninjas actually carry out jobs

Okay thats an easy one because 99% of the characters in Naruto aren't ninjas. Ninjas (wether they be magical or regular) religh on stealth and descretion to get the job done while the naruto "ninjas" seem content with talking really loud and blowing up huge chunks of land with out landish magical attacks.

"Oh those are ninjas"

your a pretty shitty ninja if people can see your work a mile away. I'm not saying mortal kombats ninjas are much better but at least they give the sense of being stealthy...christ noob is a living shadow. of course it's hard to tell since you only see them in a head to head enviroment.

This is the internet. We don't acknowledge 100% ninjas, because that would mean admitting that they were basically just spies who went around disguised as peasants and laborers, maybe occasionally pulling off an assassination and evading pursuit by blending in with the nearby commoners.

And by the definition, the Naruto universe is technically closer, since we see academy classes given on the subject (Sakura and Ino's flashback to kunoichi training even pointed out that, since women are usually bound by more stringent cultural rules, they receive a lot more training as students in acting like normal people) and that was basically the entire point of having the final exam be the transformation jutsu.

However, neither series shows as much espionage as fighting and assassination, because those are simply more exciting things to show.
