I'd say the most evil thing invented was language. Because without it, we would be ignorant to the evil that we perceive. In a way, language gives form to evil because without it, nothing evil could exist since nothing could be called that.

Not sure if I explained that terribly well... I never studied philosophy but I always wanted to - and I'm pretty sure there must be a school of thought for what I just described, but I don't know what that might be.

If you're not willing to let me have that because it's way too smart-arse of me, then I say nuclear weapons. You're basically killing millions of people and irradiating the land for hundreds of years to come. Plus, the radiation can be blown into other countries (like Chernobyl) and cause even more problems. All this at the push of a button by one person many, many miles away.

You can yak on and on about agent orange, iron maidens, and thermonuclear bombs until the eagles choke, and they still pale in comparison to the monolith that is the Department of Motor Vehicles.

Edit: Two more words. Patty and Selma.

Guns.. it makes war so unfair. When you look at war movies like Troy or Braveheart, you see that the fighters really needed to have skill and strategy. Now it's headshots and nukes...
shit i know im trolling but christ people are sending in really ingnorent statments.

movies like braveheart? ok one william wallaces father in reality was fighting WITH the british.
they never killed him.
and troy? its a glorified movie about a man whos only weakness is his heels.
if you gave them a gun they wouldnt know how to use it. it takes skill. you learn CQB and hand to hand combat in the military.
sweet instead of using bullets that kill people instantly mindlessly chopping off limbs and leaving people crippled.
and nukes arnt used in combat.
guns are the fairest war got next to prehistoric rivalry...its easier sending 100 men into a city then sending 2000 on 2000 in the middle of a dessert.

oh and id like to see william wallace hit a target at 2 kilometers with a sniper rifle.
yeah theres still skill.

i gotta say............free will. free will lets us make cars and defense weapons, but also allows us to take those weapons and kill. it lets us elect an idiot as president (not bush,i like him. i'm talking about obama) and a bunch of other evil, bad, stupid,or idiotic. without free will,we couldn't kill with a gun. without free will, we couldn't do drugs. without free will,we're robots.

not knocking your statment im just saying... i mean nuclear bombs killed like what several million?
compaired to cars.
the day a car has the ability to whip out a city in 10 seconds is the day ill say the DMV is worse then nuclear warfare.

Communism.

No other invention killed over 100 million people.
I bet Capitalism's killed a lot more indirectly.
You're talking out of your ass. How exactly would that happen? You mean those people, who died due to draconic working conditions and poor healthcare? It was 10 times worse in gulags and additionaly there were mass murders. Also all wars in the last few centuries combined didn't take as much lives as Stalin alone. It looks like you lost the bet.
So the death toll in third world countries brought low by Capitalism, sparking war and genocide across huge parts of the world and condemning millions upon millions to poverty and death across the African and Indian continents. Yeah I mean who cares about them they don't matter. I forgot to some people its only the deaths of those in the Western world that are real and the fact that communism is dead and over means its much worse then an evil that continues to persist in our world right now, constantly being supported by countries like America. When history is looked back on in the future I think we will find the scourge of Capitalism to be far worse then the atrocities committed by Communism.
The problem with you Che Guevara t-shirt sporting, socialist "rebels" is that you don't understand what exactly do you rebel against, except white guys in fancy suits.
Capitalism only defines economic system, I believe what you mean is Colonialism.
Free trade =/= financing war criminals and keeping slaves on your banana plantations.
In fact international free trade, unlike UE interventionalism to create unfair competition, would help 3rd world countries a lot.
I don't actually support communism you know I'm a Fascist actually, I also hate those "cool nonconformist, stick it to the man" type people and I believe both communism and Capitalism to be bad systems, but of the two I believe Capitalism to be the greater evil due to its continuing effects in this day and age.

I'll go with alcohol. There are way too many problems caused by alcohol to list here, but I have to agree that it's not necessarily the invention that's evil. Alcohol is also used in medicine to clean wounds.

America is the only powerful capitalist country. i mean, call me a troll, but why would you think capitalism is evil? we helped stop the Nazis, who i think were socialist, which is just their way of saying "we aren't communist" but believe me,socialism is a communism clone. Hitler killed 6 million civilians with the holocaust and probably a total of 7 million with the casualties added to that. and that's one war. communism has killed much more than capitalism. i agree with Kukul, you're talking out your ass.

Not to knock yours, but I meant mine as an inside joke.
I can see how you took that to be serious. I too agree that nuclear weapons are possibly some of the worst weapons ever created, and that Earth should never again use them (I'm looking at you , North Korea).
