No, she isn't silly, she's ignorant. Tell her that two of the hottest chicks ever get off in it and I'm sure her opinion will change.

She thinks you're gay because you want to see a high quality movie with lesbian scenes. Wait what?

I regularly used to watch "What not to wear" with my Mom... Of course, the TV rarely ever turned from TLC.

Who cares what you watch or want to watch? If she thinks you are gay for watching a movie then tell her you aren't. If she continues to think so then whatever. Not like it really matters.

I think you wanting to watch a movie that has a lesbian scene with Natalie Portman might indicate straightness. On another note, that movie looks good and I want to see it as well.

I'm not joking in you, it's quite irrational to think that I'm gay because I want to see a movie which has had brilliant grades and is just new and fresh.
Plus, she says that it's not normal for "straight men to like these kind of movies.
So what does the escapist think?

EDIT:I'm straight, just to tell you guys.
Your mum's an idiot, pray that you're adopted.

... Are you... sure this is the only thing effecting her judgment? Maybe this is just the straw that broke the camel's back.

She sounds silly just dismiss the notion, but I envy you, Black Swan isn't playing anywhere near where i live and it pisses me off it looks like fun.

Slap your Mum.
Because abusing women makes you a man's man kids!

On a side note, chances are she'll keep thinking you are gay until you bring a lady friend home.
Till then, she'll continue her silly idea that you are gay. (unless you are a girl, in which case it will be until you bring a man over).

Well, if she's right, then I'm gay as well. More so, MovieBob made me gay!

Edit: If your mother keeps bothering you, you could always tell her you're just watching it for the hot girl on girl action. That ought to silence her.

Just tell her about the passionate love scene with two women, she might not say you're gay but she could start saying you're perverse.

she is an ignorant woman. i personally am no fan of ballet, but know plenty of men who enjoy it for its elegance.

she is a double ignorant woman. black swan is not even about ballet. it is about one woman's mental breakdown.

she is a triple ignorant woman. aronofsky directed this movie.

Are you her first child? Might just be possible that with today's youth being more open with their sexuality she thinks or fears you might pop the "mom, im gay" line on her.

It's totes not normal for a straight guy to want to watch a movie where two hot actresses make out.

Show her the lesbian sex scene in it and say you're just going to see that. See how she reacts to that.

If you tell us your mom thinks your gay, one can only assume you are paranoid of your sexuality.

Following that logic, you must also don't like the thought that you are gay.

following the earlier indirect reasonings, you are not gay. IGNORE YOUR MUMMY.

thats what I do.

That's gay?

I know a self obsessed guy with very little social skills who happens to be the biggest fan of the notebook and brokeback mountain.....he says hes 100% straight.

Mate, you have nothing to worry about.

That is what I was going to say. But yeah. For anyone to think your gay to watch two girls making out and doing some lesbian stuff to each other is stupid. Plus it is a horror-suspense movie anyways.

Slap your Mum.
No, slapping is "gay". You need to punch her firm in the tits or face. Much more manly.
I think by tits or face, you mean vagina.

Grrr.

[sub]Feel the manliness. Actually, feeling it probably won't help her opinion... Nevermind.[/sub]

Well she's right. If you want to see the movie you're gay. I mean there's a lesbian love scene (don't know if there is actual sex) in so obviously you're a lesbian trapped in a man's body.

And I read you're further description of your parents and am not surprised at all. She probably thinks its all about womanly things because it has to do with ballet, despite the fact that its a psychological horror movie. And since there are womanly things in it, men shouldn't go watch it or else they're gay.

So I'm guessing that your parents (or at least your mom) believe strongly in the "stereotypical" gender roles, in which case point that out to them. Preferably with a tongue-in-cheek fashion ("Get me a sammich woman!"), but it you don't think its a good idea to do that then just stick to pointing out that she's being sexist in saying that men and women can't enjoy the same things.
