You see Loads of people prancing about forums and such making a big uproar about the fact t hat a kitten was burnt in an oven or such.as much as i hate the idea of this, my complaint is the fact that it is these people who eat truckloads of chicken everyday...

Their most common argument is that "Cats are not meant for eating".so tell me this...how come cats are in this category but cows, pigs and chickens are not??they eat dogs in Thailand, and i dont see a lot of uproar on this...kids in American neighborhoods beat up little kittens in a bag pretty often i hear form my cousin there, no uproar.

for those who dont know, a cow is killed by running a huge nail through its skull??and a chicken is killed by cutting its throat and letting it bleed to its death??wheres the "Humanity" in that??If you dont believe me check out the wiki on slaughterhouses :
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slaughterhouse#Process

Also when vegetarian food is in plenty, and tastes like chicken if prepared the right way, i dont get why more people arnt turning veg...please non veggies, enlighten me.
dude you might want to do a lil revision apart from wiki. The so called "spike through the head" is one of the most humane ways of killing cattle, its immediate and causes the least amount of distress.

For the record,my sensitivity on animals is built on experiences with them these include(some odd ones)

Cats(including kittens,as I said before,4 kittens and their mother in my shed right now)
Dogs
wasps
pigeons(not racing,don't like that idea,just love them)
deer
small mammals
lizards in general

Those are the ones I have had personal experiences with(which were positive,I remember no negitive) but it is because of these experiences I am veggie.
But my friend really pushed me into it,he took so much pleasure in taking lives he had become supportive of even the killing of humans based on racism.I just could not eat meat after him.
All the better for me thought I never got why people enjoy eatting so much,I only do it so I don't strave to death, maybe thats why I never had weight problems.

...Yeah, that's my rebuttal. But I DO have a point. The only reason humans are intelligent as they are today is because our Australopithecus ancestors ate meat. Besides, meat is tasty.
Actually as I recall, that was Homo Habilis, the handy man.
I believe it was both, actually. Either that, or 'Walking with Beasts' was lying to me.

Being a vegetarian is unhealthy. We are omnivores for a reason.
... you .. wait. Don't tell me you didn't know that vegetarian diets is one of the healthier around?

I'm thinking BS on the friend account.
Also, the reason people have weight problems is because they couple overconsumption with an increasingly sedentary lifestyle, which, in short words, means they EAT TOO MUCH and DON'T GET OFF THEIR FAT ARSES.

No, they have a rudimentary one, as has been previously stated.
... pretty sure they don't... I don't remember seeing nerves on any plants in my biology text book.

I believe they do. Or at least some do. It's how some plants can respond to attackers with natural defense mechanisms.

How can you like wasps?! They sting and hurt, and I kill all the ones that I have a chance to because I hate all those kinds of bugs.

Are you saying that a vegetarian diet is healthy?

Because it isn't. It's much healthier to eat a balance of various foods. You know, like we are supposed to.

1. I wouldn't mind either. I'd be far too dead to.
2. Do you believe everything the FDA tells you?

Firstly if someone did anything to my Cat I would rip out there intestines and feast on them raw with a little ketchup, secondly if we didnt eat meat we would infact be dooming entire species of animal to death.

Cows would survive for milk, sheep serve no purpose and would be killed in a mass cull as it would not be economically viable to allow them to graze on vegetable growing land, Pigs no bacon means no pigs, chickens would survive the cull due to eggs. Turkey Ducks and most of the other purely meat animals would serve no purpose and therefore would stand no chance.

Meat tastes good, we are omnivores!

To misquote the Smiths "Meat is dinner!"

Cat's and Dog's in the Western world are bred for the purpose of being companions for humans.

Chickens, Cows and Pigs are bred for the purpose of Eggs, Milk and Meat.

Killing a defenceless animal for the sick pleasure of it is incomparable to killing an animal for it's meat.

Having a spike shoved through your skull is also much less cruel than consciously feeling your body burn to cinders.
I agree with him.

What is the point of that anyway? I have gotten into an argument with a vegetarian, but will still eat chicken and fish. WTF

woah, waoh, woah not true eating nothing but biscuits which are suitable for vegetarian(be sure to check them, they are on the fairly likely list to not be suitable) otherwise being vegetarian has proven to been MORE healthy, what maybe you might be mistaken in is the lack of essitenal acids some veggies may not be informed about, the main source of it commonly is meat,I get mine from nuts(I eat ALOT of nuts, more than I have to,help balance the weight issue)

lower chance of food poisoning too 95% of that comes from meat

Now Vegan is another story, alot of VEGANS so a lack of calcium.

just FYI.

Uh, no. No they don't. Checked wikipedia which has no mention of plants in the nervous system part. I think it what you are talking about there is sort of like a reflex arc (like instinctively moving your hand away when someone sticks a pin in it, not to do with pain! just the pressure). It isn't processed like in the nervous system where pain is then added as a response from the brain (which plants don't have).
