I'm fairly confident that the new MMO will BE WoW only re-skinned.
That's an incredibly bold assertion to make about a game that no-one knows anything about, other than that it's an MMO. If it turns out that you are correct, go ahead and and rant about it then. Until then, don't just blindly make shit up and shove it down our throats.
how is him making this post "shoving it down your throat" ? is someone forcing you to read this? should we notify the authorities to send help? has your captor touched you inappropriately yet? should we tell them to bring a rape kit?
I'm suggesting that's he's being very forceful and obnoxious in his wording and overall attitude here. What's your point, did you just want to take a cheap shot at me?

MMOs are just the AIDS of the gaming world, once you get it, you can't really get rid of it, and it just ravages your mind and body...to hell with you Blizzard! Now, where's my football, I might do some exercise...

What? Look, yes I may be cynical about this, but I do not have confidence in Blizzard. I avoid them, if someone offered me a top level job there I'd decline. I don't want to play the ," my opinion," card because that is the spark for a flame war, but I just don't believe in them. Especially when it comes to change.
You wouldn't take a good job at a multi-million dollar gaming company that just farts out expansion packs every few years, and a sequel after 7-10, while all the other game companies are struggling to get enough shit together to bring something new out every two? Well, I'll be. It might be a good job. Why, might I ask? Or is it just because you severely dislike Blizzard and what they stand for?

EDIT: OP, and all the other doubters, you can never declare a game bad until it's out and you've played it. You might be surprised, this might be something face-meltingly awesome.
I believe in nothing ventured nothing gained, reap what you sow, and nothing is worth doing unless it involves hard work. I'm actually pretty creative and I let my mind go out unrestrained, WoW pretty much has everything done. The world, story, gameplay, etc. is already there, I'd just be piling sand on a dune in the desert. If I work somewhere, I want it to be where i can actually work. Where I'm forced to think of a new world, story, gameplay, etc. instead of having a pre-made one ready for me. How to explain this... I'd rather work with a bakery that makes me experiment and make my own recipe for cookies and bake them rather than a bakery that bakes cookies from a pre-made recipe.

OT: Why not? Yahtzee does it all the time with JRPGs, Shooters, puzzle games, Square Enix, MMORPGs (MMORPGER).

This thread is new and exciting.
You don't like Blizzard I believe?
That's fine, you know.

But I suggest you wait with the bashing until there is actually more info on the game than it's name. Because otherwise you might seem hooked on your grudge...

Yup, lets all calm down before we all start talking out of our asses about something we hardly know about and even the developers have hardly said anything about.

Lets also think rationally so we don't all get hooked, well thinking rationally I hardly have that much proof so many people were hooked on that game.

I think world of starcraft has been a industry joke sense michael pachter actually promised it back in 2009 ( and let?s not forget that guy is a fucking idiot) .

As for the Skinner box well yeh?? most games not just mmo?s are built around Skinners ideas . after all they are dependent on how long we play em.
I think it was Jonathan Blow ( dude who make braid ) who said that such game mechanics are a "exploitational" and I don?t agree with that . yes it?s a manipulative system but it doesn?t make the game any less fun, stimulus and reward systems work ,and they work well.

EDIT: also Blizzard isn?t THAT evil , they still care about their fan base? I think .
Listen, a non-exploitable MMO is one that is free. One where no one is forcing you to get your moneys worth or fear of losing your account or access to the game world without paying a rent. One where the amount of time it goes on is dependent on the players' enjoyment and maybe micro transaction and the price of the game itself.

None of us have seen anything of it, and probably won't do for quite some time, let alone get to play it.

You've blown your load before you've even seen the girl.
I don't have to. WoW is a psychological chain, the new one will be a psychological chain, BLIZZARD'S games are psychological chains. Watch, just watch. When big names advertise ,"innovation," what do you usually get? Either way, it will still rob people of their soul.

great analogy,
i'm sure with the amount of time and resources blizzard puts into WoW, this new MMO will have some redeeming qualities.
and anyway its none of your business what i do with my soul!
No, but it's my business to rally others to get games that try something new. Blizzard makes RTS's, MMOs, and dungeon crawlers let's have them roll the dice by moving into new territory. Better yet, bring me a game designer from Blizzard who'll say that this new MMO is free-to-play, tries something TOTALLY new, and is not about money. And while your at it bring a pair of handcuffs for him and handcuff his hands in front of him so we can see if he crosses his fingers.
Blizzard makes what people want to play, and this is best proven by WoW. If your interested in something new there are tons of games out to try. Blaming a successful company for lack of original ideas isn't going to change anything.

Starcraft is a national sport in South Korea. I call that hooked, or at least devotion. On like a cult-status.( I like the Koreans, they're cool)

Okay so i understand where you're coming from with the whole blizzard is only interested in money but hear me out. Blizzard is a business and there objective is to make money and in video games they're one of the best at it. As far as their fan base goes, they have that fan base becasue they have released good games in the past and doesnt it make sense to play games made by a developer who has released good games in the past. I would also like to point out that the makers of the games wants the user to play as much as possible and a way they do that is by making the game addictive. Also, in general i dont think i have ever played a blizzard game that wasnt entertaining.

SC 2 FTW

So having a video game as a national sport is proof that people are hooked?

...how?

Christ when was the leaked release? 2015?
Can't we at least wait for any kind of information besides "it's a MMO" before we crucify it?

I find it amazing how often people forget the WoW is actually a pretty good game. I'm not particularly into grinding the same content over and over for rewards, but the game actually does have a lot of interesting and solid gameplay with an impressive atmosphere. They release expansion packs instead of sequels, because sequels to MMOs are a bad idea, and it's smarter to build on what you have than to start over.

Personally, I'm looking forward to seeing what Blizzard's next MMO does and how it pushes the genre. I'm not expecting them to do anything that hasn't been done already, but I am expecting them to do it right. They aren't a company known for half assing anything, and I'm fully expecting them to take all the concepts that make other MMOs good and create something great.

why do people keep going on about blizzard being evil and draining peoples souls?

Since when does creating something that people enjoy consuming on a regular basis make them evil? its not like they put a gun to their head, if people want to be anti social then thats their choice...

Just another member of the "ALL MMO ARE ONLY GRIND" crowd.

Why are people paying attention to him/it?
