The first series was bad ass. Then, the new voice actor came into the scene. Now we have Major Assendale ladies and gentlemen.
I think it should end as follows:
Michael Bay directs it and we get a huge 'splosion of epic proportions and we see Shia LaBoeuf run away from something else like he does in every movie. Ash and Pikachu nearly escape with their lives, Brock and Misty too, and they all walk off.

Anyone read Keys to the Kingdom by Garth Nix? That's how I'd like it to end.
I'd like to point out that yes, it is different from the ending in Lord Sunday, so please don't flame me for it.
The pokemon actually destroy the world due to the wars that have been raged while Ash was away from his homeland. After trying to defend it, Ash comes face to face with Arceus, and the pokemon details his life in the NARRATOR'S VOICE, and how his life has just been a lead-up to his eventual godlike status. Arceus then dies due to the war of the pokemon breaking his heart (Pokemon are not tools of war and all that jazz) and Ash becomes the new God of the Pokemon Universe. And then he wakes up as his eleven year old self, just about to get his first pokemon from Professor Oak, and strangely remembers a small yellow mouse shocking him. And he smiles.
I'd like to point out that yes, it is different from the ending in Lord Sunday, so please don't flame me for it.
I would love to see something like a final series where serious shit goes down. A war maybe, but that might be too dark for Pokémon.
I don't really care how it happens just have an epic battle where Ash gets his Kanto Pokémon back. They are all fully evolved and high levels too. Maybe have Pikachu finally evolve, maybe even die?
The ending I want is probably too dark for Pokémon. I watch a new episode occaisionally when it just so happens to be on TV. The English version is too 'kiddy'. It was cool when I was younger but now it seems too shallow.

I would like to hear the pokemon speak real words and tell those kids to fuck off and fight their own battles. Then burn the kid with the had to a fine ash.
Episode opens with Ash, now a tired and dejected old man, sitting on his front porch in a rocking chair. His eyes weary, his shoulders slumped. He looks over towards his pickachu, who is now so old he can't even stand.
"All those years fighting team Rocket and training....All ways working towards an almost un...nay completely unattainable goal. Collect all your kind? And for what? A title that gives me a few perks."
"We missed out on so much of life my friend" a tear streams down his cheek "and all for my ambition! Well... I won't hold you back much longer my friend... your free" Ash pulls the shotgun out from under his rocking chair. Screen fades to black, gun shot rings out, and a weeping scream of PIIIIIIIIIKKAAAAAAA rings out. Role credits.

Ahh, Pokemon... memories. I always hoped they'd end it with Ash beating the original Pokemon League... you know, like they almost did apart from making him loose in the preliminaries to some random dude and extending the series for another million years.
Still, that was eleven years ago now, I'm far too old to give a crap about Pokemon any more. I'm satisfied with my fond childhood memories of the original 150 and the posibility on a magical 151st Pokemon! Ahh, those were the days.

I've got a fucked up mind and basically thought of a parody movie where Pokemon meets Watchmen, it would be so unfitting and the slogan would be 'gotta cap em all'.

The last story arc involves Ash tracking down Red, as in Red from the manga. All loose ends get tied up, all of which provide a definite closure and make Ash a stronger person overall. Ash finally meets Red and the series ends with Pokemon battle to end all Pokemon battles.
With a really bad hentai fanfiction episode which permanently scars everyone who has ever watched the show.
Pokemon was over in season 1 for me, so I don't really give a flying crap. And yeah, isn't it about time for Ash to like girls?... Or maybe he doesn't go that way and he's shy about it... Hmmmmmm...
Technically the 'other' option but this would have been my way.
Without having ever introduced more than the original 151, Ash and friends make it to the Pokemon League (it would probably have been about 2 years since the show start by this point). Ash goes up against the Pokemon League and defeats them, thus earning his title of Pokemon Master, for however short an amount of time. He and Misty get together (just because that was one of the things I most wanted to happen when I first saw the show some 13 years ago), Brock goes off to breed Pokemon forever, Ash and Misty go off and do separate things, but still remain very close, and there's a sense of closure yet continuation.
Basically, make it like the games endings but personalised to the characters. In the game, the goal is clear and at the end of the game you achieve it, but the secondary goal of catching all the Pokemon remains open. This should have been the approach taken with the show, IMHO.
Then again, I'm a determined OG who only ever played Pokemon Blue, only ever saw the Indigo League Series, and actually wanted the character to grow up.
Also, have something nice happen to Team Rocket, for God's sake.
