You are a huge hypocrite. You say that pc gamers hate console gamers which is not true. Your argument is that you taunt the wii because they aren't actuall "real" gamers because...

This whole argument is based on your idea of a gamer. To you it appears to be anything thats not the wii or casual. You seem to be the kind of person that would get called a console tard. You probably play lots of MW2. Why do you feel superior to the wii? The wii is a console and it plays games just as fun if not more than the xbox and ps3. The only thing the wii lacks is internet playing capabilities and if that defines a "gamer" than the pc's are the only true gamers. It is a FACT that the PC's online gaming is superior to that of consoles (Dedicated Servers, No paying, Mods, Map Creation, Free DLC)

So my main point is that by qualifying the wii as not a "gamers" console just because it doesn't have your kind of games or online is like qualifying the Xbox and Ps3 as not "gamers" consoles.

If one plays SSBB religiously and kicks ass are they not a gamer because its "for casual gamers"

wii is not a games console because of the gimmic the average player and the abundance of five day production rate casual games. casual game aren't gamers games because they arn't art. also you jumped to a conclusion about my definition of a gamer. a gamer is somone who plays game and call himself willingly a fan boyof any existing gaming series/franchise and is illing to name themself a gamer which is why i taunt wii gamers for there own good say they can save themselves from the inevitable dissapointment for when nintendo sets about alienating its fanbase. also its fun. online stuff is irelevant even if awsome.

Your bitching about the Wii being casual, having no games and of Nintendo supposedly abandoning their fanbase are no more valid than PC gamers claiming your console of choice is shit. The Wii has games, it has puzzle games, fighting games, action/adventure games, rpgs, even the occasional strategy-esque game. The simple fact that you:
a) Can't be fucked looking for them
or
b) Personally don't enjoy them.
Has no reflection on anybody but you. I have more games on the Wii than I could see myself buying on the PS3 and 360 combined*. I prefer the Mario Kart/Galaxy, Okami, Smash Bros, Little King's Story and Metroid titles; over your Halo/Killzone/CoD/whatever other titles you can think of.

If someone prefers pure action to substance in a movie, they're still watching a movie.
If someone reads Mills and Boon novels (romance) rather than the latest crime/thriller, they're still reading a book.
If I prefer stylised/cartoon graphics and fun/bright/colourful game worlds, to gritty realism, I'm still playing a fucking game, therefore I am gaming, hence I am a gamer, so take your hypocritical world view and shove it up your HDMI port.

*I want to play Assassins Creed 2 and Fable 2 especially but one I'm waiting for on the PC whilst the other I'm hoping gets released on PC.

As a PC gamer I don't hate all console gamers. I do get very annoyed by some, the same way that I get very annoyed by some PC gamers. What I do hate is the way that much of PC gaming has been lost, partly due to the proliferation of console gaming. I wish that we could all live together in a happy place where every platform got a proper release of all the good games. People refer to 'dumbing down' and it really is a problem. Many PC gamers feel persecuted against and are just lashing out. However having a go back at them doesn't solve anything.

It's probably because PC gamers were riding high and getting all sorts of Developers making brilliant games for them exclusively back in the pre-Playstation era, and now they are getting less and less dedicated support from their developers .... also there is a bit more of a feeling annoyance when you spend like £350 for a top of the range graphics card, and then someone pays however much a ps3 costs nowdays and gets the same quality .... and they get all their components in one hit

I haven't seen a PC/console thread on here that hasn't had some sort of comment that tries and flames a console/PC owner when it comes to 'How to fix *insert console/PC here*. Everytime a help thread for a certain console or PC comes up, there always seems to be one guy who says "Get a PC" or "Get a 360/PS3". Those comments don't help and just serve as flamebait to attract a flame war (obviously). Another example is when someone's asks what console to buy. Many people come out and say "Get him a PC instead" which in turns leads to a console gamer saying "Yeah, but PC suckz LOLZ!" And it's the same story on PC game suggestion threads, just that console gamers post the inflammatory comments.

But I sort of move off the point, which was: Both sides have been utter asshats to each other. I should now, I was one of those asshats when I joined up. I used to post the above stuff and got shit for it, and of course, gave shit back. But know, having tried both sides, I have come to the conclussion that some PC gamers are stuck up console haters and act like morons because some console gamers are also stuck up and disrespectful morons and both feel the need to defend their respect gaming station or whatever, with a passion with out giving any coherent reasoning behind it.

People like to find that one thing/person/people that bears the blame of their problems. And so, in this age of somewhat dumbed-down games where intelligent story, dialogue and/or humor are lacking to some extent, it's time to find that target which to blame.

Some (i.e. definitely not all) PC-folk have come to the conclusion that console games and gamers are the reason for this stagnation in quality, and therefore feels that it's their right to boast about the PC's superiority and blatantly blaming Console-ers at every turn. It doesn't help when some Console-ers goes on to boast about their own superiority while constantly making PC-folk seem like spoiled and whiny children.
Thus begins a snowball-effect.

Really, it's just a play-ground fight spiced with strong opinions, fools, trolls and a lack of internet sensibility.

My flatmate is a pc gamer and when I ask why he has such a supperiority complex about pc games, he just goes on about how "the graphics are SSSSOOOOOO much better!!!" awesome argument there, mate. He was all up in arms when he found out the pc version of Assassin's Creed 2 got delayed, but then said "oh, it's ok. I just found out the pc version's graphics are gonna be much more advanced" yaaaay, definitely worth waiting 3 extra months for. And he's spent over £2000 buying and constantly updating his pc to keep it in tip top shape and as much as I strain my eyes I cannot notice the difference between the last £100 graphics card and the next. Am I being really naive? Should he maybe be looking out for games with good gameplay, innovation and stories rather than just hugging his graphically-supperior machine as he falls asleep at night?
