Hello all!

Here's a question to all the Australian out there, what political party do you support?

For me it's Labour. Tony Abbott is a complete idiot, and the rest of the Liberals aren't better.

I'm not a fan of the Liberal party, but I think that's a little unfair, unless you are holding Australian politicians to a much higher standard than most.

The Liberals aren't actively trying to destroy the country to spite the people trying to fix things, for example.

I picked other, because both the Liberals and Labour are a complete mess and joke at the moment. The Greens are not very good imho, although getting rid of Bob Brown was a good move.

I'll support this mob [http://www.cpa.org.au/][footnote]not really...[/footnote].

I voted Sex Party in the last election, and until one of the two main parties can prove they're not idiots, I will continue to do so. I'm limiting my alternatives to Liberal or Labour, because that seems like the only options that could actually win.

On economic issues, I tend to favour the Libs. On social issues, I like what I know of the Sex Party (and not just because of their name).

Holy shit Australian politics is boring. We're so centrist that the liberals are the 'right' and labour is the 'left', I don't know any other country that has as much similarities between their two big parties as we do. The GEC only made them more sheepish and if you remember the last election ads, well it was a joke. Literally every ad was just a smear campaign. Even America did a bit better.

I will give credit to Labour though, since they did insulate us a fair bit from the economic meltdown even if their unbelievable social conservatism is a bit worrying.

I ducked out a loooong time ago man. I mean both sides are idiots and probably not benefit us/the country at all. I would really hope that neither Julia or Tony would be PM, how about some other nice guy/gal that would be really awesome, benefit the coutnry, benefit us and push Australia to a better future where they care about everyone...especially W.A...stop stealing our money...jokes. But I feel like W.A isn't being treated seriously here. But I guess that's a far away dream.

I just hope that the future will be brighter. :D

I voted other. I don't really support the one party over the others, my preference changes over time. Liberal and Labor are so similar in terms of policy that there isn't really that much in terms of choice.

That being said if an election was held today, I'd probably vote for the Nationals.

We get a great variety of choice in Australian politics. Two varieties of sewage and a donkey vote.

IIRC, it was that there would be no carbon tax under a Labor government. Then they couldn't form a government by themselves, and needed to get the Greens on side, and nobody saw that coming.

And, similar things were said about a goods and services tax, for which the government of the time didn't have that excuse.

Out of the two major parties id like to say labour but in general this household is a Greens or Other household they just tend to make the better desicions especially environmentally and the whole migrant thing, altho it seems people are finally treating them like humans.. thank god :p

Since there's no equivalent to Italian Futurism. I lean with the Liberals, at least tey can actually do some good without lying to our face, or installing Keating, or hiring brothels with tax money, or deciding to flip the leadership we voted for, or telling us there will be no carbons tax, then creating a carbon tax.

That and Sarah Hanson Young vexes me greatly.
The Liberals have been lying to our faces for years. Remember how a few years back when the government was against the carbon tax, the liberals were blabbering on about how much they liked it? And now the government is for it, the Liberals are against it.

The Liberals lie just as much as any other party, in fact they probably lie the most.

Greens. I approve of their socially progressive policies and desire to shift towards renewable energy sources - both because of the environment and because it isn't smart long term to rely on a limited resource like fossil fuels. Of the major parties, I prefer Labor, but only because the Liberals are stupider. No policies other than stopping the boats, and a mad preacher not out of place in American politics (no offence) for their leader. If Malcolm Turnbull becomes leader, I might change my mind, however.

At this point in time, I would say Other and hope for a change in leadership in either Labor or Liberal (or both)

I vote Labour, currently out of a sense of "which is the least shitty". Have to laugh at our 'conservative' party being called Liberals.

I've been voting Green in both the Lower and Upper Houses since the Tampa. Before that I voted Labour but ever since Bomber sunk to the bottom over the Tampa I haven't been able to look at them without disgust. I used to also vote Democrat in the Senate before Meg Lees folded on the GST and killed the party. There is a severe lack of spine in most of the current batch of politicians. I think Tony Windsor speaks his mind and stands by his convictions but very few others do. I miss good old Petro Georgiou, if I had lived in his electorate I might have even voted Lib.
