I haven't been caught with it, but my mom found a magazine (I got it from a friend who cleaned out his room) and that was just brought up casually in a conversation as a joke about what someone else did.

If I caught my kids do it I would probably tell them to not do it because of the crap you get from most free sites, but I wouldn't care much except for that, since we've all been there once in our lives.

I kinda caught my dad though, indirectly. Since the movies gets censored unless you change the language over here (stupid protection) so I noticed the movie channel having Swedish subtitles instead of Norwegian, and I've also seen in it in the browser history. He's now learned to delete browsing history.

I Look at it all the time, and i believe there is nothing wrong with it... And if i had kids, i may even give them a 15+ mag (bikini's and the odd tit) but explain to them that it isnt a thing to read in public/school

Only once. I turned off the computer before my brother (Who walked in) saw anything, but assumed (Correctly) that I had been watching porn. Does that count?

No I would not have a problem with my children, unless they were paying (FOR SHAME!)

My only reaction would probably be

"Is that mine?"

I've been caught, terribly embarassing.

Depending on their age I'd try to get them to wait till they were older. I'd give them a good talking about it and warn them that it could mess up their perception of sex. But I really wouldn't care, it's natural, everyone does it.

I'd be cool with it. I mean, it's not like I was never guilty of the same thing, so ragging on them for it would be hypocritical. My only rule would pretty much be "don't let your mum find out."

Yes, I've been caught, many years ago when I lived with my parents. I was just like "yeah, so I'm looking at porn... and?".

I'll never have children, but if I did, they could look at porn if they wanted. After all it never hurt me.

Granted, porn is pretty damn demeaning towards women.
Not always. Not even most of the time. Ask the girls from I Hit It With My Axe if they feel demeaned.
With porn being so wide spread and more and more things being considered "common" and "acceptable", many women feel that they are pushed to go further and further so the argument that it degrades is somewhat valid. I mean, look at it from the female perspective. If you're not into say...the "back door" and you learn that your man enjoys watching porn involving that (which a good majority do) how would you feel? Would you feel pressured to do that to match his desires even though it's not something you enjoy? What about BDSM? Or other things? There's crazy stuff out where the women are practically being portrayed as mindless tools used to pleasure every man around them. I mean, I use to enjoy some but nothing too far out of the "norm" and I can see the point of people who say it's degrading.

Oh yeah, on topic. My parents didn't care, they knew I was "curious". I actually ended up with a magazine as an Easter gift (I liked wrestling and it had a diva featured as the centerfold and I had made the argument that I wouldn't be able to get the "collector's item" because I wouldn't be able to find it once I was of age. I said that as a joke...guess they thought I was serious.)...yeah, I thought that was odd as well. It was funny because my first instinct was to hide it...even though they already knew because they got it for me...hmm...

I don't know how I would react if I caught my kid looking at it. Probably explain to her that it's not realistic, that she should never do anything that's she's not comfortable with, and that, if she wants to get more, she should talk to her mother because I will not buy magazines of naked men. Though I shouldn't have to worry about that for about 15 years so...I'll cross that bridge when I get there.

It would depend on how old they were, and what they were looking at. If my kid was say, 12 and looking at porn, I wouldn't be too excited about it. I know I can't stop him, but I'd rather they didn't learn about sex from porn. Talk about raised expectations...

Well If I was caught I'd be like "Dad ... this never happened, leave."
If I caught my kid I would probably be like "We're pretending this never happened, I'm going to leave now."

That's a relationship and communication issue, not an issue with pornography itself. Those pressures can often exist whether porn is present or not. BDSM clubs exist whether people take photos and video of it and sell it or not. Orgies do happen regardless of if someone takes a camera along. People talk about these things and experience peer and societal pressure to conform to (or abstain from) various activities whether porn is part of the equation or not.

Also you're assuming that it's the female who wouldn't want to go as far as the male, often it's the other way around. I can actually think of more cases among my friends where the female wanted to go further and do some fairly "like in a porn film" stuff and the guy just wasn't comfortable with it. Sexual negotiations are a two way street.

Yeah... My dad's an IT expert or whatever, so he ALWAYS knew when I was looking at it, but he didn't mind much. Gave me "The Talk" but it only lasted about 5 minutes so it wasn't bad. The thing he hated was the amount of virisus I had put on my computer. He had to rebuild my computer 3 times and the last time he told me that if I did it again he'd punch me in the face. So I stopped. I'm not gonna try to take on my dad yet, maybe when he's 80...

Being in the 14-18 age demographic right now I have been caught with porn and at first my mother took great offense at it. It stressed her out and made her believe that I would treat woman as objects. However eventually she came to accept that porn is simply the evolution of playboy and that most guys are doing it (those that say they aren't are generally lying). She doesn't really care now. In addition the argument I'm not looking at anything "hardcore" worked for me.

Based on my experience I would not stop my son from looking at porn unless it was disturbing (hopefully everyone knows what I mean by that). I wouldn't stop them because it is perfectly normal to do so and that stopping my son (or daughter) from doing so would be hypocritical.
you wouldn't want to stop them, stopping it means its taboo which makes it all the more exciting for them, my parents said I was never allowed to watch South Park and now, thanks to southparkstudios.com I have seen every single episode of South Park with the exception of any new ones they've put out in the last 3 months
That is what I was saying, I agree completely with your point but am not sure why you quoted me.
I was saying don't stop them even if it was the disturbing kind, sorry I wasn't clear about that, if they are looking are really disturbing stuff, let them watch and make sure you watch them closely to make sure they don't... reenact it
Certain types of porn (pm me if you want examples) are so disgusting that they suggest that the person watching them needs counseling. If its that disturbing I feel that it would be my duty as a parent to step in and stop it.

Really? That's interesting.... Usually, when I've seen it (among friends, classmates, coworkers, etc), it's been the female being pressured. I agree that it's a relationship issue but it's exacerbated by those other factors.

Yeah, but my parents just ignored it, and didn't mention it to me, thank god.
Though it's not as embararsing as when they walk in on you having actual sex.
But still, evertthing realated to my dick has been a lot easier since i got my own place.

If i had kids and caught them looking at porn i guess i would do the same... maybe find an un-related way to talk about E-std's (electronic sexual diseases AKA internet porn site virusses) so i wouldn't have to fix their computers every otehr day due to them carelessly browsing porn sites without thinking about all the fucking malware they might get.

I introduced my cousin (who is 2.5 years younger than me) to it when he was about 13 I think.
Eventually he was caught with it on his psp or something and when asked he told his mother that I had told him about it.
Needless to say my aunt told me grandad and my grandad told my dad and my dad's first reaction was that my cousin was lying and I played along. Looking back on it I regret it because ever since then my mother and father will always say his name with distaste. They don't hate him and they are very friendly towards him but in the privacy of our home they pass comments whenever he is mentioned. They don't even think about the initial incident anymore I'd say it's just something that came to be normal for them.

I can't remember if I've ever been caught em I'm sure there were a few close calls where I lied my way out of trouble but the memores are a bit hazy :p

If I caught my son I would laugh and make a joke about locking the door to put him at ease. Then I would tell him how porn is only acting and bla de bla and then talk to him about Internet viruses and how he shouldn't ever pay for it when there's plenty for free.
I'd never make the "haha at least you're not gay" joke because he might well be and to hear his father say something like that would only make him feel more afraid about his sexuality
I'd never walk in on him masterbating because I would always knock. However, hypothetically I would apologise for interupting not in an embarrassed manner, but in a firm way.
If it was my daughter I would probably let my wife deal with it as I might be a bit awkward.

I've been caught a couple of times, to my defense, When the bathroom door is closed... KNOCK FIRST. For fucks sake you'd think that common courtesy. Then a dvd i managed to get was found in what I thought at the time was an area that would never be checked. And finally, after I inherited a computer with internet connection The first thing I did was look up porn. My friends and I would share it (we're kinda open like that). One day while showing a friend some pics my mother came by and I could close down the pics quick enough. She asked what we were doing and glanced at the computer screen. I looked at her, then at the computer, back at her, and back to the computer, and finally said "We're looking at scantily clad women, Possibly My age, removing clothing for our viewing pleasure... Illegally."

She smacked me in the head and called me a little shit while laughing.

I'd be completely understanding toward my children viewing porn. Like a responsible adult I'd put it into perspective for them so it doesn't warp their personality. It didn't warp mine but it happens.

Technically never been caught. Close calls though. It's definitely taught me to keep it hidden.

As for if my kids were to do it... As long as they clean up after themselves, go wild.
