A topic i'm sure has been done to death, but i got curious. Have you ever been caught looking at porn or had your parents discover porn on your laptop / tv / other? I have once long ago. My mum reacted badly to it despite me being 16 years old and using the 'at least i'm looking at naked ladies and not reasoning. This was probably due to her growing up in a very repressed period where sex and whatnot as all viewed as evil / sinful / whatever, as my parents even now cringe whenever sex is on TV in a movie or TV show or something and it's still a very taboo subject for them. However as i'm pretty much an adult myself being close to 20 now, i reflected on that and thought that i wouldn't get mad at my kids if i found they'd been looking at pornographic material - it's perfectly normal during puberty, right? As long as it wasn't illegal stuff and they were discreet about it, i don't see much of a problem with it, although i'd probably have 'that talk' with them about it.
How would you react if you caught your kids with porn - badly or understandingly?
Have you ever been caught with porn? How did your parents react?
The age i'm talking about here is roughly 14-18 for argument's sake.
pornography is a useless endeavor. I cannot find a reason for it. If it was "curiousity", than the pictures in your sex ed should cover that. Personally, I find it an addiction, and most people who argue for it sound just like irrational addicts. aka, YOU!
But I'm not here to point fingers... well, I am, but that's not the real point I want to make.
My friends and I were chillin at a LAN party and one friend was having a problem with his computer. Although he had the best gaming laptop on the market, it was always slow and at one point stopped all together (he has 325 kb of RAM left... his laptop had come with 512 MB, but due to virus' and the like, it sapped all the RAM out of his computer). Anyways, this one friend knew next to nothing about computers, so he asked my other friend Sean (who's a computer genius) to fix it. Upon Sean's analysis, we found 386 videos of porn. Not too big of a deal... accept that they were all trannies!!! It was soooo funny and soooo embarassing for him. He tried to play it off that his dad must have been looking up porn - which I could kinda see, accept his dad's a computer nerd like Sean, and he would NEVER have left a trace on his SON'S laptop. I just couldn't believe it... also makes you wonder what my friends ACTUAL sexual orientation is.
See, if we had seen maybe one or two tranny videos, I'd probably be chill... people like to explore from time to time. But of the 386 videos, there were probably only 20 that were not trannies... and of those they were lesbos!
Not that I was checking mind you... we were looking for a file in the folder full of the porn so I just happened to notice, haha.
You're a very close minded person. Porn serves a purpose. Males need to masturbate. Its that simple. You're genitalia doesn't develop fully if you don't, unless of course you are planning on having regular sexual intercourse from about the age of 12+.
That's because sexual maturity happens long before mental maturity. And when the human species wasn't monogamous males would impregnate females as often as possible from a very young age. The age of consent isn't something nature decided upon. Sex is a massive part of the human experience. Pretending its something dirty and abnormal is stupid. And masturbation is now a large part of that. Because of the way our society is structure, it would be grossly unfair to expect a young person to understand all the possible consequences that having sex may incur, which is why self gratification is the better option. This allows understanding of the subject itself and the physical maturity to occur, without the drawbacks of possible impregnation and STD's. Porn is now a big part of that. Sure there is some batshit crazy stuff out there, like what your friend was watching. But really what business is it of yours what other people get off on. As long as its not something illegal I don't see a problem.
I don't know anything about your upbringing, but I would hazard a guess that it was quite sheltered, and that perhaps you come from a very religiously orientated family. Religion has always chastised self gratification and sex before marriage, yadda yadda yadda. Living this way often leads to these repressed emotions and desires being channelled in very disturbing ways. There's plenty of research on this subject. But if you want something recent, just look at the clergies current sex scandal that's been covering the papers for weeks. I'm not saying that anyone who lives a chaste or sheltered life will inevitably end up like this. But I am saying how can people judge others for living healthy lifestyles and watching porn in tandem.
Don't judge people simply because they watch porn. It makes you come off as real self-important ass.
Actually I'm a former sex-addict. I've been all over the board with sex, justifying it with every conceivable excuse, from porn, to intercourse, to just plain, "What's the big deal if I suck on my gf's titties?"
Obviously, I'm an extreme case, and I understand this. The point I'm making when I say that I was a sex addict is that I am NOT a closed minded person. Although I will admit, my religion and faith in Jesus was both a catalyst for my reasoning to quit, and the reason why I find it useless, it is not the only reason. I've done plenty of studying on the subject and at almost every turn, the excuses created for personal, sexual pleasure has a scientific argument. Here's just a few of them:
1. Masturbation is required for full development: reality: genitalia development is triggered by hormones almost exclusively found in the brain. This triggers growth and healthiness in genitalia. Further, any "assistance" masturbation would provide is found in the phenomena of wet-dreams. In fact, almost every night there is some semenal ejaculation that occurs. As you get older, this is reduced to a couple times a week. Any other excess "juice" is either absorbed and recycled by the body, or in urine. As for women, there is no scientific backing for this, especially since female orgasm is a debatable subject among researchers (With 30% not having orgasms at all, and around 50% of those who say they do, unsure about it).
2. Pornography is a sad industry where many of the men and women involved are in financially challenging situations. Further, if they desire to leave the industry, it's nearly impossible for them to find a new job because of their previous "employers". It throws actresses and actors into an endless cycle of depravity, hopelessness, and greed.
3. As the porn industry has grown, so has sexual addiction. It has become an increased distraction that inhibits men and women from reaching their full potential.
4. Sexual "freedom" is biologically unfounded. Men and women are made for one partner. Example: When women have sex for the first time, the vagina forms to fit the first penis to have entered it. She was made for one penis and one penis only.
There's others, but you get the point. I'm not sheltered and I'm not just a religious wacko. You can disagree, and I welcome your disagreement, but there's more to my argument than empty words.
