When I became a teenager my mom said if I ever needed porn she'd buy me playboy so I didn't eff up the computer, 5 years and about as many reformats later I still haven't asked for a playboy, or been caught with porn.

Not really, couldn't care less, I'm a guy, guys have porn.

Although if I have an engineer coming round to sort out the phone line or Cable or internet I always put out some fetish DVD's near the problem area.

You seem to care if your mother plays Resident Evil 4 well.

My mum only didnt like it because she thought i'd get done for it... which i told her is only if u download illegal porn or child porn. Just to look at naked people or people having sex is harmless depending on the sites, and yes, i have managed to come across the truely nasty ones just from looking at harmless ones. There is also the risks of Viruses but that was my concern not hers.

Eventually she dared to ask for me to show her what i was looking at and let her look with me. Well that i wasnt doing because its embarrasing enough that she knows yet alone her sitting looking at it with me. My uncle also saw half the things id been looking at having been fixing my computer and coming across the Cookies thing that tells you everything you've been on (im carefull to erase my history etc now lol). He just laughed at me.

Being in the 14-18 age demographic right now I have been caught with porn and at first my mother took great offense at it. It stressed her out and made her believe that I would treat woman as objects. However eventually she came to accept that porn is simply the evolution of playboy and that most guys are doing it (those that say they aren't are generally lying). She doesn't really care now. In addition the argument I'm not looking at anything "hardcore" worked for me.

Based on my experience I would not stop my son from looking at porn unless it was disturbing (hopefully everyone knows what I mean by that). I wouldn't stop them because it is perfectly normal to do so and that stopping my son (or daughter) from doing so would be hypocritical.
you wouldn't want to stop them, stopping it means its taboo which makes it all the more exciting for them, my parents said I was never allowed to watch South Park and now, thanks to southparkstudios.com I have seen every single episode of South Park with the exception of any new ones they've put out in the last 3 months

When I was 16 I stumbled on my Dad's porn stash (by stumbled I mean checked his zip discs while he was busy with a family crisis). When he mentioned my porn a few months later I responded "I don't know dad, maybe we should ask the little japanese girl with many tentacles and the ball gag on your zip discs what she thinks. Might be hard to understand her though, given the ball gag and the crying." We never spoke of it again.

Don't have any porn myself, but I have found my father's multiple times (the first time being when I was six maybe), I found my older brother's while clearing out his stuff from my apartment when he moved out and I have found my mother rubbing her breasts multiple times while watching/looking at something on her laptop/phone (which is really disturbing when you add in she's 50 and doesn't bother trying to hide the fact that she's doing it).

Of course, I would be understanding. I would tell him, as I believe, that pornography is perfectly natural and in fact serves a very important function by allowing one to relieve sexual tension without pursuing sex all the time. So long as it isn't something indicative of deeper psychological problems (some kind of rape-S&M thing) I'd just leave him to his own business, so long as he only did it alone in his room at night or when he's home alone. After having that sort of talk with him, I'd go tell the wife (if she exists, I was hoping I could bribe some scientists to try cloning...) about that talk, so she'd know the drill and wouldn't freak out.

And as for being caught, one time when I was about 14 my little brother (I think he was 12 or 13) found out by looking at my internet history and a couple of drawings I had carelessly left in the trash. He threatened to tell my mom, to which I said, "Screw you, I'll tell mom myself." And so I did. Thankfully my mom's a hippie-liberal and my dad's a realist, so neither of them care.

That is what I was saying, I agree completely with your point but am not sure why you quoted me.

If I caught my son watching it, I'd be like "you know all girls who aren't complete whores yes? Just checking."
What she said.
And I'll say, "You know son, they aren't usually that enthusiastic. and it's very rare they bring a mate."

(Yes, that is a joke stolen of a comedian :D)

I'd also tell my daughter, "Darling, don't watch this, You'll only get disappointed."
lol.

I'd probably sit next to my kid and examine the source material for a bit, noting the bits I like and the bits I don't. That should make him feel confused and awkward about it all, but I'll never forbid him from it regardless. Up to him as to how he spends his free time really and I'm sure it'll lose its novelty sooner or later.

I was saying don't stop them even if it was the disturbing kind, sorry I wasn't clear about that, if they are looking are really disturbing stuff, let them watch and make sure you watch them closely to make sure they don't... reenact it

I'd probably be quite embarrassed, but I sure as hell wouldn't punish them for something I myself do.

As for being caught... well, back when I didn't know how to delete search history, my mom found a porn site in the history, and she thought it was me, though she had no proof (for the record, it was me).

Never been caught.

If I did have kids, I don't think I'd care much if they looked at porn seeing as how I've never met a man who hasn't enjoyed porn of some kind and they aren't all messed up because of it.

If I caught them, I'd tell them to be more careful next time. It could be their aunt or uncle who walked in on them, and that would be awkward.

Not sure why anybody would keep their kids from viewing porn. I understand the adult nature of the material in question, but people must keep in mind that "18" is a completely arbitrary age. I was of at least some sexual maturity, as designed by own body, by around 14. If I had not watched porn, my dick would have exploded and I would have found some other, most likely worse, outlet for any frustration or anger I had.

Plan on allowing any children I may have in the future to go about their own business and take up their own interests within reason. Catch them with porn? Laugh, leave the room, and probably watch porn myself.

I've been caught like once because I did not clear the browser history. I though would not really care if they look at porn, I would just say that it is not like reality at all.
