Ok i know this might be a bit overdone but i have a ps3 and im thinking of selling it to buy an xbox now

I bought my ps3 from a friend at a cheap price and its like 2 years old and it works just fine, no problems nothing, the thing is i dont really see a lot of variety as in the xbox game catalog. If i sell it, i want to get the ps3/wii drunken lovechild that is the new xbox but im still not sure if its a good move cause i dont know about you but i dont have 300 dlls to spend on a gaming console so it can give a RROD and then wait a month or two, get it replaced Argh, is it to much to ask for my moneys worth ?

anyhow what do you think?

xbox or ps3 and no fanboys please.

The libraries of the PS3 and x360 overlap so much as to be virtually indistinguishable.

They fixed the RROD problem with the new Xbox's, and gave them built in wi-fi, so at this point the new xbox is a PS3 with more games (not necessarily better though) and a better online.

I had an xbox but own a PS3 now btw

Really, it depends on what exclusives are coming out. I don;t know what 360 exclusives there are coming out next year, but the PS3 has Killzone 3, LPB 2, Resistance 3, Grand Turismo 5, Ratchet and Clank: All 4 One. If more of these interest you than any 360 exclusives coming out, keep the PS3. If not, sell it by all means.

This man speaks the truth.

Trust me, as soon as you sell the PS3 a new exclusive will come out and you'll wish you hadn't have sold it. That's why I'm probably not going to sell my Wii. And a lot of games that are on the 360 are on the PS3 as well... what games were you looking at?

You forgot the Sly Collection, Ico/Shadow of the Colossus Collection, the Last Guardian, and possibly some others.

I would say stick with the PS3.

At launch, I would've said 360 because the PS3 costed so damn much, but now the two are pretty much even. Depends on if you like 3 numbers in your system's name, or just 1.

I've said it before, I'll say it again.

As a 360 gamer, I suggest 360 for Multiplayer, PS3 for Singleplayer.

I go for PS3, personally. I have a 360 as well, and never use it any more because many of the games I care about are also on the PS3 and the PS3 has exclusives I care about. Gears of War and Halo are fun and all, but they're nothing special.

So yeah; PS3.

I don't really wanna sound Biased. But I'd say PS3. I started off on an Xbox. After its second death I moved onto the PS3 Slim. Now the PS3 is so much better than it was at released. Go for the PS3. Built in Blu Ray. Free Internet. A plethora of Exclusives. Quieter online (But I like that, I hate listening to people online most of the time when all they say is "0wn3d! n00b!!!") A fair bit more powerful on the stats side of things...

I have both systems and prefer the 360 all the way. Multi-platform games are generally more polished on the 360, plus I prefer the controller. The PS3 has some great exclusive titles, but with exclusivity becoming more rare by the year it tips the balance in favour of the 360 for mine.

Also, as somoeone said, the new 360 Slim is really nice and finally does all the things the PS3 did at launch, only XBL shits on PSN.

I'd favour the PS3 for all the Sony produced exclusives.

Ridge Racer 7
Folklore
Heavenly Sword
Ninja Gaiden Sigma
Resistance: Fall of Man
Motorstorm
Uncharted: Drakes Fortune
Ratchet and Clank: Tools of Destruction
MGS4
Resistance 2
Gran Turismo 5 Prologue (1080p)
LittleBigPlanet
Motorstorm: Pacific Rift
Ratchet & Clank: Quest for Booty
Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2
Wipeout HD Fury
SOCOM: Confrontation
Killzone 2
Infamous
Uncharted 2: Among Thieves
Ratchet & Clank: Crack in Time
MAG
Demon's Souls
God of War III
ModNation Racers
Time Crisis: Razing Storm
God of War Collection
Super Stardust HD
WarHawk
Dark Mist
Fat Princess
Flower
Pixeljunk Shooter
+Dozens of great PSOne re-releases, playable on PSP

I wish Xbox 360 had as many "worth-getting" games.

Move also seems a heck of a lot more appealing than Kinect.

Though if you want a change, have you considered PC gaming? PM and I'll quote you on upgrade options, I've built my own gaming PC and know how to get the most bang for your buck.

Im going with the 360. It's a bit of a personal choice but I think that the joysticks on the 360 are less marshmelloish.

I really dont see what people mean when they say that the RRoD is such a deal breaker. I've had my 360 for about 3-4 years and its only RRoD 3 times, and only one of those times was out of warrenty.

In the end its up to you but I cast my vote for 360.

I have a 360. I love said 360 (My Wii collects dust). Seriously it comes down to which console has the exclusives you prefer and how important online play is to you. PSN works fine but it's no Xbox Live which is, for lack of a better term, better. The interface, the features, just the whole service, when it comes to online play Xbox Live is superior in every way. That being said that's honestly the only real GAMING feature (forgetting games) that the xbox has over PS3, they're pretty even but the Dev's are just starting to figure out the PS3 it seems - the games are looking better and better, it only has 1 disc for it's games rather than 3 for FFXIII and it's basic online service is free.

The rest of the differences are aesthetic and just other tacked on multimedia shit that have nothing to really do with games. Personally I love Xbox Live and prefer the catalouge of exclusives on the 360 but yeah the differences between the 2 these days are less and less.

EDIT: Wait I just remembered one thing that makes me hate the PS3 - CONVEX TRIGGERS! Most annoying fucking thing and make playing games which use the triggers annoying and unpleasant. I know you can buy those extenders but that's just fucking supid to fork out for something as simple of making a trigger ergonomical.

What and WHAT?

Xbox more games? After Halo and the odd Gears of War (still been 4 years since a GOOD gears game) there isn't much. Microsoft hardly puts anything into first party (exclusive) development and even then all in one basket (Halo Reach).

I don't buy it (literally) that XBL has better online. Technically at least it is unbearable.

I have been playing Alan Wake and it's a fucking fantastic game. Honestly that right there is a reason to buy a 360.

This. So much this.
I can only name 5 franchises that's exclusive to the X360:
Halo, Gears of War, Forza, Crackdown, and Fable. All of these combine for 13 games (including some still in the works).
That's out of a list of over 700 hundred games. In terms of library, those consoles are literally the same.

Spoken like a true PC gamer. Whether you are one or not, I have no idea, but that statement is the one that I have running in my head often. PSN and XBL are both terrible in terms of online service.

It may not be a deal breaker, but it is a big hassle. Saying it's "only" RRoD 3 times doesn't seem very good to me. With the PS3 I've had it for 3 years (Euro release day model) and haven't had a single problem with it. *touch wood* Then again the 360 I have hasn't RRoD once either, but that's partly because I don't use it so much I suppose.

Overall I'd stick with the PS3, it's far more versatile than the 360. I could go as far as saying it's a bit more future proof, since it does have a bit more power, too.
