Nope, Brits really don't care about it. It's a long time ago, Americans seem to care far more about it than we do, maybe thats just because you won?
That said, the film The Patriot still royaly pisses me off because of quite how far it demonises the British to ludicrous extent and I actually found myself rooting for the Red Coats more. It's the same problem I had with Braveheart, maybe it's just a Mel Gibson thing?
I mean there's a scene where there's some african americans working and a British officer offers them freedom if they fight for King and country. They say that're actually freed slaves payed to work and then the British guy in the most condescending and smarmy tone you could imagine says "Well then they will have the privillage of fighing in the Kings army wont they!". Oh yes British, bad, slavery boo hoo. Americans good, love black people, never held anyone slaves, don't have blemish on their record.
Oh and the idea that 3 boys with muskets can single handely take out a 20+ strong convoy is utter bollocks as well.
