I'd give my kid a Nintendo 64. That's what I grew up on, and it has fantastic games, Golden Eye, Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, Mario Kart, games that should be played by every generation.
Plus, I would never give my kid a game that he could play online on. I'm a firm believer that no kid under the age of 15 should ever be allowed to play online games, because they annoy the crap out of me, and virtually any adult that's playing.
HEY im 14 and i play online but i realize now that i can do that because i have shaken off my 10 year old voice and also my 12 year old voice of constant cracking so i believe there should be a rule that until you sound like a guy and not a girl online you cant play with a head set
In that case you're discriminating against female gamers. My dislike of children online isn't the fact that they have high voices, since I regularly game with a few female friends, but the fact that you don't have to mental maturity to be playing with adults.
Who does the most trash talking during games? Kids, usually between the ages of 12 and 14 (from my experience). Who has the shittiest tactics, and are always too stubborn to change how they play in order to benefit the team? Again, kids between the ages of 12 and 14. This trend continues.
I figure you only become mature enough to play a videogame online, once the law has deemed that you're old enough to be encased in 2 tons of metal, with gallons of flammable liquid, in a projectile that is capable of traveling over 100 miles an hour. Until such a time, these children have not reasonably learned responsibility, and should not be allowed to play an online game, especially an online game that is rated M and meant for adults.
