Id you're crying at a sad ending to a film. Then there's something wrong with you. Even if you're a woman it's still wrong.

If you're crying at your mothers funeral then that's normal.
What is wrong with empathy?
Empathy for someone in real life is fine.

Empathy for fake characters is a little.... Odd.
Not when fictional characters represent real emotion.

Emphasis on fictional

They're not real. Why feel sad for them?
Being someone who watches a lot of anime, I don't agree with this at all. I believe a well written character can seem quite real. You see them develop as a character. You become attached to them. idk, maybe you are a cold, emotionless stoic, but not everyone is.

Men shouldn't cry over trivial things. Actually there are only two circumstances where manly tears make you more manly, thats when your dog dies, or when your dad dies.

Guys should be allowed to cry as much as they want. Let's be honest - someone who is bawling noisily for no good reason is just as annoying whether they are male or female. Men should be allowed to express their feelings too, and if that happens to be crying for them, then so be it. I'm a girl and I don't cry much, but I don't think any less of a man who does.

They are real in our minds! You unimaginative bastard! D:

But seriously, they're real if you want them to be. Have you ever watched a movie? It's all scripted, the action and the emotions are no more real than a book's. You only need to imagine.

EDIT: oh wait, you already covered that. Maybe you just don't have a soul? :/

Because they represent real emotion, empathy doesn't stop at personal connection. Have you ever felt emotion when watching a film?

A load of shit, and anyone who says differently is someone that can only have sex by paying. A real man should be able to control his emotions, not by devoid of them. There's nothing girly about crying. Well, as long as it's for a good reason. If a dude cries after breaking a nail or a bad hair cut then... but I digress.

And anyway, you ever been kicked in the nuts? Try not crying.
in grade 6 by a bully i was kneed in the balls and my left nut exploded into like 11 pieces and i didn't cry. so basically i only have 1 testicle. so i would have to say no to that getting kicked in the nuts makes u cry, but yea it hurts tho, but not as much as u would expect by like how 'comedy shows' show it.

BTW it is actually harder to show your emotions as men, due to fear of being laughed at because u showed emotions as a man. so yes u could say that your more of a man to show emotions than to hide them

Bruce Willis and Edward James Olmos both cry, in a manly way. What, you think you're better then Bruce Willis and Edward James Olmos? Liar.

I kid, crying is completely fine in the proper situation.

What, no tears for your mum? Loving your mom is manly, dammit *insert obvious Oedipus Rex joke here*
