Due to the recent release of a Call of Duty title thats all I have been hearing about. Amongst my friends, fellow gamers and even just people in general Black Ops seems to be all that can come up anymore. Feel free to discuss any RPGs you like or are looking forward to. One game in particular I cant wait to play is the new Dungeon Siege. I absolutely loved all the other Dungeon Sieges. Another one that is still just speculation is the next Elder Scrolls. I do hope however its more like Morrowind and less like Oblivion.

Eh, I like the old CRPGs best. Arcanum is still probably tops for me, despite its flaws.

I really can't decide between the Fallout and Mass Effect series.

Probably Neverwonter Nights, at least online or with custom modules. The Basic campaigns were ridiculously bad except for HotU and MotB.

Planescape was never a series so I can't really put that. The next best is Baldurs Gate then, although mainly for the sequel. Would like to show some love to Neverwinter Nights 2 as well, but the blandness of the original stops that.

Of the games you listed Mass Effect. But there are other games out there that I like, that said I would most likely still pick Mass Effect!

My favorite is Mass Effect. I really enjoy stepping into the role of Commander Shepard. It's an incredibly immersive experience.

I'm actually a fan of the Tales series, with a good love of Bioware, Atlus, Pokemon and select Final Fantasies thrown in. Legend of the Dragoon is practically my favorite though. Xenosaga also ranks up there, even if it did give me a small amount of trauma here and there (for a rated T game, they got away with a lot more than I thought they could).

I liked Fallout 3 for the experience of surviving in a wasteland, and will pop it in occasionally, but feel no true love for it. In fact, Bethesda games in general really don't do it for me (Morrowind and Oblivion both gave me a feeling of meh. Fallout was the only one I found something I liked in).

Oh Baldur's Gate, let me count the ways I love thee!

Best rpg series ever made I say, Baldur's Gate revived a flagging genre and its sequel perfected it. In two fell swoops Bioware both renewed and then mastered the whole of the RPG world.

It's a wonder Bioware didn't simply take one last look at Baldur's Gate 2 and go "Welp, we're done!" and then walk dramatically away into the sunset, their job done and the gaming world at peace!

I love Fallout. Nothing can beat it in my eyes. Elder Scrolls is a close second, with Mass Effect coming in 3rd. Gotta love Fallout.

Japan needs some love dude, you can't even talk about the best rpgs without mentioning FF and pokemon. If you meant just wrpg, then it goes to ME hands down. Otherwise, i would say xenosaga, or possible tos. One of those two.

They all have their strong points.
But my favorite are the TALES series... well, i just played 2 of those; tales of phantasia and tales of destiny 2 (actually its Tales of Eternia) because the combat system is a ton of FUN.
