Does Elementalism refer to the various elements? (silly question but can't really tell from your description)

If so that, if not...Then whatever gives me control over ice and water, anything to do with h20. In rl I love water and the cold, drink enormous quantities of water, and am happy when it rains and love it when it snows, even my favorite colors are white and blue.

So yeah, anything that gives me mastery over h2o :)

I would learn Elementalism so that way I can keep cool when it's hot and warm when it's freezing cold outside.

I'd choose either telekinesis or elementalism but I can't choose. Probably elementalism is you can control all 4

Surprised more aren't fans of teleportation. Maybe because telekinesis can be used for flight, but if I could wrap my senses around it, instant transportation would be my way to go. Just think, it's like Portals, only you don't need to have visual access to your destination. Also, Nightcrawler's always been one of my favorite X-men.

Yeah it does. When he mentions Avatar it's regarding the awesome kids TV (with a terrible film made of it) where there are 4 nations and certain people within each nation can control a particular element. Fire Nation mages control fire etc.

I'm caught between Restoration and Elementalist. On one hand, Restoration sounds like a beautiful and handy thing to learn. I, nor my family and friends, would never need to see a doctor again ever.

Butttt, being able to kick supreme ass as an Elementalist and bend the elements to my will is a not-so-secret fantasy of mine.

Can I go with the A:TLA version of Waterbending? Two for the low low price of one?

Evocation, or illusion, sometimes I think conjuration/Invocation would be great, but I really can't get past those two as my immediate reaction

I Think I'll go for teleportation like Wraith in X-men or Griffn in Jumper. They seem like epic abilities, plus theyre practical.

Not quite on topic, but I felt that 5 pages on magic without this was just wrong.

Telekinesis. Now this is usually a massive source for debate for my friends, but i'm going with Telekinesis, instead of Destruction/Elementalism simply because i feel it makes more sense, You start throwing fireballs? Good luck with that, half a mile up in the air, in busy airspace. No amount of restoration magic is gonna bring you back from that. Most destruction magic can be countered in some form or another, telekinesis is much more difficult to counter, and so much cooler on a daily basis, fast travel, stealing, all sorts of fun things! Yeah it's nice to walk down the street, see the car of someone you dont like, turn around, and make the earth swallow them up and fire rain down from above, but how often does that happen?

Elementalism, because lightning. Also i'm guessing you could use Air, Fire, Water, Earth and possibly ice.

A wild Soldier appears!
Aethren uses Double Team!
Solder uses shoot! It's not very effective...
Aethren uses Confuse Ray!
Soldier is confused! Soldier hurts itself in its confusion!
Aethen uses Invisibility!
Soldier is confused! Soldier uses Shoot! Soldier misses!
Aethren uses Garrote! It's super-effective!
Soldier is unconscious...
Illusion is best, nothing beats messing with perceptions.

It is dark. You are likely to be eaten by a grue.
Also, you forgot Mysticism, things like clairvoyance and seeing the future.

Ooooooooh THAT Avatar, sorry for some reason I was thinking of the blue skinned xenos Avatar (for the record, i'm not familiar nor have seen either of them) so figured it might be some nature magic stuff.

Then yeah, definitly elementalism, the nation of ice/water if possible, whichever is more applicable ^^

depends on which systems you follow, but I think I'll just list the Warhammer lores.there's quite a list.
Lore of Death(not to be confused with necromancy):DOOM!!
Lore of Fire:self explanatory
Lore of Beasts:boost your own or a friendly units stats, prevent non-humanoid units from attacking
Lore of Light:to protect and heal
Lore of Metal:basically alchemy.improve your gear or make the enemys gear useless
Lore of Life:summon winds,or make the terrain itself strike out in anger!
Lore of the Heavens:thunderbolts,or unleash a comet on the battlefield
Lore of Shadow:speed around the battlefield,or scare the bejesus out of your foe
then there's the race-specific stuff.I won't go into detail.
Lore of the Old Ones (Lizardmen)
High Magic(High Elves)
Dark Magic(Dark Elves)
Lore of the Forest (Wood Elves)
Necromancy + Vampiric Magic
Lore of Chaos Undivided
Lore of Nurgle:disease and decay
Lore of Tzeentch:transformation and manipulation
Lore of Slaanesh:pleasure and desire
Lore of the Horned Rat(Skaven[rat-men])
Gastromancy(Ogre's Gut Magic)
Big Waaagh! and little Waaagh! (orcs and goblins)
and the Lore of Ice,practised only by the Tzarina Katarina of Kislev.

I'm pretty sure I got them all.more information can be found at www.games-workshop.com
Lizardmen do not use their own form of magic anymore, the winds of magic are too weak to comply. You also left out the Lore of Nehekhara (Tomb Kings) to call upon the desert gods! (Sorry nerded my self all over the place then)

But yeah I voted Necromancy but going by Warhammer Rules the Lore of Tzeentch is far more appealing, bow the to the Changer of Ways!

I left tomb kings out because they use the scroll system as opposed to the regular Winds of Magic (By My Will Be Done!)

Changer of the Ways be damned, Grandfather Nurgle has many gifts to bestow!
