Wasn't it that you're techincally straight if 90% of your attractions are of the opposite sex?
Yeah, I'm sure I've heard that somewhere as well. As sexuality doesn't need a legal or medical definition in the UK (and in most sensible countries) it's pretty much down to personal preference how you choose to define the terms homosexual, bisexual, etc.
The OED just says "a person who is sexually attracted to people of their own sex", which (as far as I can work out) is the most "traditional" definition. Terms like "bisexual" are more recent inventions, so "homosexual" used to refer to anyone who was attracted to members of their own gender, even if they were also/primarily attracted to the opposite gender.
James I of England was labelled a homosexual because he was supposedly seen in court "nibbling on young men", but he also had seven children by his wife (and the very first child was a boy, so he wasn't doing it out of obligation to produce an heir). Similarly, in some non-sensible countries, the legal definition of a homosexual is someone who has
ever had consensual sexy-times with someone of their own gender.
OT: I'm female and currently have all of my sexy-times with my boyfriend. However, were I single, I would not say no to sexy-times with a nice lady.
