I...I don't know.

This isn't me trying to be a special snowflake or anything, but I have only had relationship with women, the majority of the time I find women sexually attractive than men, and I cannot imagine being in a relationship with anyone but a woman, and when I look for pornography on the internet I will, 95% of the time, look for porn involving women.

But then

I currently have a fuck-buddy who is male, who I feel no sort of emotional attachment with; we just use each other for sex and then go back to playing Brawl. I would categorise myself as 'greedy heterosexual' but then the very fact that I find what we're doing enjoyable means I can't be heterosexual: yet he's the only person I have ever done this with and I doubt I could ever form a romantic relationship with him.

Halp.

It's not that big a deal. Sex, I mean. Not so you'd have to be terrified.
Pan means "all-encompassing".

How curious. Only 50% of the women on this forum are heterosexual, and 80% of the males are as well.

I do wonder, how come there's so many homosexuals here, at least much more than national averages would assume. Maybe 'cause we're more liberal and tolerant on this forum?
Also young people are becoming more accepting of homosexuality, and homo/bisexuality are less likely to be quashed. As for the women percentages, we still don't have quite enough girls to justify pulling conclusions from the data, but we are close.

Oh my, a thread dedicated to my derpings.
No need to be narcissistic, this was inspired by, but not in honor of. :p

And I don't think you hate gay people or anything, it's just that the particular comment you made was what inspired the creation of this thread. I cite my sources after all.

Also, from a scientific persepective (assuming we get a large enough sample and the rough percentages stay the same) it would be fairly significant for there to be ~20% of this site to be non-straight. In addition, you made comments that talking about being pro-gay rights is unnecessary because most true homophobes aren't here - so? Most true homophobes won't change their mind anyways, the point is to get people behind something all rational people agree with - everyone has the same basic rights and privileges, even if they like sexy times with the same gender. There are more than a few pro-gay rights people who just go off on people with little reason, and they are certainly in the wrong. But that does not make that cause purposeless.

First off, being bisexual isn't bad, blah blah blah. You don't have to choose guys or gals or anything like that. This poll is also intended to be what YOU believe you are, as I can't measure anything else. For me personally, I'm mostly attracted to women but I've occasionally been interesting in boys, which means to me that I'm bisexual. If you think that your attraction and pleasure from being with this guy makes you bisexual instead of heterosexual, then by all means say bisexual.

The point is, go with your gut.

I concur with Daniel on all accounts. As an additional point of clarification, that means that you have no problem with your partner being male, female, transgendered, intersex, or anything else. There CAN be a higher focus on emotional/spiritual/other non-physical attractivenesses, but that is not always the case. For the layman, Pansexuals are Bisexuals who have a dumber flag.

Straight male. Generic, though while certainly im not boasting or anything, but from my observations, compared to the average straigh male, sex is way bellow in my priority list compared to others.

But yeah poll results are what i expected kinda.

:/ I'm gonna hope you're just joshin' around and that you aren't actually attracted to women still like your post maybe implies?
sadly, there do are some straight males that will never get some. all hail modern culture right?

P.S. i was very tempted to vote "other" and make a necrophilia joke. very tempted.

For my information, by TG you mean transgirl vs cisgirl? And yeah, trans isn't a sexuality thing, it's a gender identity thing, so I wouldn't want to separate those out.

If I could have found a way to discover transexual stats on the Escapist, I would though. That would be interesting as well, seeing as part of this whole shindig is to determine the LGBTWTFBBQ presence amongst Escapistians.

Yeah? Various media tells a different story.
And those various media are wrong. Yeah, your first time will be messy and a touch awkward, but don't worry too much about it because everyones is. There is truly nothing to be terrified of.

Then why are there so many books and articles about how to have "the best sex ever"? Plus WTF is with all the various positions? I always imagined sex to be a deep romantic thing, not some crude exercise.

Given that I'm colour blind (though not completely) I don't really care who gets the prettiest flag. :p

I'm Male and Pansexual. On the Kinsey scale I guess I'm more straight leaning. Typically I'm more attracted to females or to males that looks like females but in the end to me gender is more of a social construct that doesn't have much say in who I can and can't find attractive.

Because people who are insecure about sex will buy books and magazines about how to have the best sex. The various media you're saying who make sex seem scary make their money by cashing in on that fear.

Yay! The escapist comunity is quite awesome about these things

ah its really not that big of a deal. I doubt lots of girls would expect you to know all the positions from the kamasutra.
Mostly you just try to not over think it, sex is pretty natural and so far all of our ancestors have managed to do it, cant be so difficult.

Because sex is pleasurable, and more pleasure = more better. Also, people are insecure. As for the positions thing, having sex in a non-missionary position can be very romantic, and having sex in the missionary position[footnote]You just expressed confusion over positions, so I'll explain quickly. Missionary [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Missionary_position] is basic, run of the mill, guy-on-top sex.[/footnote] can be supremely un-romantic. As a side note, what can be more romantic than pleasuring the love of your life? ;P

And I mean it, there is nothing to be worried about. A lot of sex stuff will either come naturally or with practice[footnote]Spoiler: PRACTICE HAS NEVER BEEN MORE AWESOME[/footnote], and nothing but the shallowest of love interests would stop being involved with you just because you lack experience.[footnote]point of fact, there are a number of people who find inexperienced people attractive, both because it can be cute and because it lets them teach you how to do things the right way[/footnote] All you need to do is communicate with your partner and listen to them when they tell you something and you'll do just fine. ^_^

Female, straight. ... But if Charlize Theron or Anne Hathaway jumped me, I wouldn't say no. I'm saying straight because I don't daydream about girls and prefer guys, I'm just comfortable enough to say I wouldn't say no if I found them attractive.

I admit I only learned the proper terminology recently, thanks to the marvelous webcomic Khaos Komix [http://www.khaoskomix.com/]. I totally recommend you read it, tis pretty awesome.
