I seriously can't imagine what goes on in those peoples' heads who don't take their shoes off in their homes.

Seems like they'd enjoy spending a night out on the streets. I mean, sorry, but I enjoy keeping the outside outside, and the inside inside.

That said, it's very annoying if you go to someone's house and they ask you to remove 'em.
With that said, it's very annoying if you go to someone's house, and they have to ask you to remove 'em.
Yeah, you're right. It's just that I remembered when I went to someones house and they said "take of your shoes" in a strange voice.
I usually follow their lead and would take of my shoes if they are wet or dirty anyway.

In Norway, you always take your shoes of when you're in someone's home. Anything else is considered very bad form. It's a basic cleanliness issue.
yeah it's the same in Japan, shoes outdoors exclusively

Depends. If it's cold, then I leave them on so my feets are warm (I hate slippers), or if I know I'm gonna be going in and out of the house during the day, then I just leave them on. But, other than that, I leave them off. If I'm at someone else's home though, always off.

I have a pair of indoor shoes so I answered leave them on.

For reasons that I have an extreme fear of falling and the shoes provide much needed stability on hardwood areas. And secondly because I live in a basement and need something to keep my feet warm during times of inactivity.

I take them off. I think leaving them on is only an American thing, but I'm not sure.

I usually leave them on. My sister gets the shits when there is a mess of shoes at the front door.

to be honest it depends, like if i know im going to be heading back out or my feet are cold i'll keep them on but if they have stuff on them i'll take them off.

I grew up in a house where the floor was an obstacle course. Wearing shoes to protect against stray push pins or thumbtacks was a common practice and it carried over into adulthood.

Of course, whenever I've got a girl living with me she asks if I was raised by wolves, but them's the breaks.

Off on carpet.
On on hardwood flooring.

I hate hardwood flooring, it feels pants on the feet.

I always take them off. All the crap on my shoe doesn't go on and it's culture.

I leave mine one becuase my floors to cold to be wearing socks. If it warms up i'll take them off, but fall is ending and its getting cold enough around here that nipples could cut glass.
