Meh it really sucks when you get cornered in a room, go on a rampage and kill like 6 guys in a row and then get hit by the 'nade as you're running out. But it is a perk and no worse than any other ones in the game I suppose.

I do wish they'd take it off for hardcore mode though.
Yea that sucks

Has anyone ever noticed that in a post game lobby that the people complaining about "noob" tactics are never the players that are in the lead.
In short, its the guys who aren't very good that make up excuses are try to blame other people for their own lack of skill.

The people who get killed by martyrdom are the ones that have terrible reflexes. It's not unavoidable. You can actually run straight over the nade and still manage to get out of range before it explodes.

While I personally like the perk, having it removed would ensure that I would never again hear a whiny 10 year old complain about MARTYdom.
I mean honestly how hard is it to pronounce the damn word correctly?

Yes, include it, its adds to the fun and strategy of the game. Its not noobish, because I'm sure some people allow themselves to die at times to increase kills when the grenade goes off. Besides, very few people use it in the Hardcore games, which are the only game types I play.

I don't see this whole argument of "If you get killed by the same person you just killed you deserve to die"

Which part of this makes sense, seriously, read it again slowly.

Fine, a lot of the time you kill them from a distance, you are too far to be blown up. Or you just killed a camper hear or see a nade drop and move away or throw it, fine.

But far too often you kill someone on your way to somewhere, i.e. they enter a building, you shoot them on your way out, boom, just as you get in range of the indicator.

Killing someone just outside of a grenade kill to be blown the second you step into it is not fun.

Bah i'm just not a fan at all of this whole life after death thing, if you are killed, you are dead, wait for respawn imo. Last stand at least requires some interaction from the player after they have been killed, the fact that the nade drop is automatic is just stupid, and requires no skill.

umm, all of u people that say, stfu for whining and move away from the nade are absolute goddamn idiots, when i kill someone(at least when i'm not sniping) i usually move up to their old position, you know instead of just camping there, when u move up you can possibly gain the advantage of getting a few more of his unsuspecting teamates in the back or w/e...but appparently when u try to play tactticly(or with some modicum of inteligence) you end up getting punished for the sole reason of wanting to improve your position on the battlefield...and the "there is an indicator" agrument is total bs as well, i have seen this happen many times, by the time you see the indicator for martyrdom, it's too goddamn late(being as marty nades are on a 3 sec fuse rather than the normal 5 sec fuse) I would like to see martydom removed from the game...if u wanna "take the bastards out with you" then use last stand and earn the kills you fucking noobs!

And please. Don't use the word skill. Leadership is a skill. Teamwork is a skill. Time management is a skill. Reading is a skill. Knowing what gets you killed is arguably a skill. Headshotting someone in CoD 4, and running over his grenade for the 10th time is not a skill. It's just thick.
Yeah, but then you get the idea that "Oh, I insta-killed him with a head shot, he could be using Last Stand for all I know." thing. I'm tellin' ya, just balance out Martydom a bit where you don't drop a grenade when headshoted, out of stock grenades, or get killed by a grenade yourself, and it's all fine. When you can cook a grenade when you know you're going to die, then drop an extra grenade when the one you cooked was the last one you had, something's up.

I'm just saying to balance it a bit, just sayin'.

Of course, it's part of the game, if you are that immature to complain that somebody is cheating or calling it a noob weapon/perk, than you really shouldn't be playing Mature games now should you?

I say keep it. If you can't avoid a grenade dropped with a full fuse, then you deserve to be killed by it.

Exactly, I mean it's easy enough to read these comments and pretend people are making valid arguments for it.

People saying "Keep it in to annoy the 12 year old kids you hear whining about it killing them"

I had the opposite experience, it was usually the 12 year old american kids laughing at their own suicide tactics with the older guys just grumbling the word "stupid" after being suicide bombed.

And by no means am I trying to call COD realistic, but US or British forces strapping a nade to them self and running to for the good of the team is just beyond me, this doesn't happen, game or not.

And if you are of the opinion that the person who just killed you then stood or ran near your body is lesser skilled then it's all over for shooters.

Dunno about you guys, but I usually HEAR it drop long before I see it.

Keep it. If you're too thick to figure out how to listen or watch for indications, then you need to go back to Halo
How clever, you've called Halo players thick, how funny...(sarcasm)

I'm fairly certain your game rating system is different in the UK.. But In America a game for 17+ is rated Mature.

You can hear them when they drop so in all I find it isn't that difficult to avoid
When you're moving up for a better position in a firefight with airstrikes whining down everywhere, helicopters droning around, explosions from other grenades and various firearms being discharged, it gets slightly hard to make out the 'ting' of one single grenade as you approach.

What I usually find the most frustrating with that perk is mostly because it adds up with the submachinegun which is all to overpowered and tailored for the small maps. Most of the people I meet when I play MW use SMG and martyr and rarely if ever attempt to aim from the shoulder. Result being 16 players running around like loons with smgs blazing from their hips (which for some reason are more accurate than rifles even if you shoulder it), running and gunning to get within one metre of you to make the best use of the smgs high rate of fire.
Then if you do take them out, and they usually have friends that you have to turn your attention to, you suddenly have a grenade in the middle of it that you have to consider. I don't experience very often that you have the time to strafe around and look for it to throw it back. Running to new cover isn't so often a good idea in the middle of those situations either.

Being a player who's been playing FPS competitively since CS 1.3, MW with some of its perks and weapon balances is a real kick in the nuts :/ Like already stated its focused on casual play.

im sorry but why are soooo many people such a ***** about using Juggernaut!? ITS A PERK... IT WAS DESIGNED TO BE USED BY ANYONE...

the logic some people are using is like saying "Oh you shouldn't use stopping power as it's like saying "im not good enough to kill you with the normal amount of bullets"" some people have got to be kidding with their annoyance of it...

no i don't use it... but when i was starting up it was useful to have just a little bit of slack going so i could do better than if i had normal health...

soooo quit bein a ***** about it... suck it up and let people use the perk...

I think it should be removed.

-kinda stupid how you magically shit a grenade upon dieing.
-I think it's more fun to unpin the grenade yourself(cook the grenade) if you know you're about to die
-Sure its not a huge problem if you kill someone and they drop a grenade, but pretty much EVERYONE equips it so its kinda silly to run from everyone once you kill them.
-Terribly annoying perk in larger scale battles, as everyone equips it
-The teammates are immune to the grenade, so it's quite retarded if you sneak attack three people and the first drops a grenades so you have to run away while the others just sit on it.

I personally only equipped once to get the first stage of the challenge for it (kill one person with martyrdom), but gave it up as I see it as being quite nooby.

I mean it works on the premise that you die and then pray that the guy that killed you eats your grenade. Last stand however, simply allows you a second merciful chance to redeem yourself.

Plus I like to put myself in the shoes of the soldier, putting off death being my ultimate goal.
