No because teenagers are already stupid before they get hammered.
I take exception to that, most teenagers are not stupid. You just have to remember, stories of intelligent teenagers are not as entertaining as those of stupid ones.

I've discovered that drinking isn't a big deal everywhere else in the world, except North America. From what I've gathered, drinking ages are more suggestions than laws. Parents teach their kids moderation at a young age, and for the most part it pays off. Over here, if you drink underage you get in all kinds of trouble (up to jail time for you and a mighty fine for your parents). So because of the whole "Don't do it, or else" mentality, more do it and kill either themselves or other people.
So yes, I think the drinking age should be lowered, but only if, parents are willing to properly educate their children on drinking.
I agree but you know there is still going to be those parents and people that ruin it like they always do.

Interestingly it used to be 18 in New York until New Jersey ruined it for us. Lots of Jersey kids were driving down here cause the drinking age there was already 21 getting drunk and getting in accidents on the way back.

They tried lowering the drinking age. You know what happened when the age was lowered? The amount of deaths by drunk drivers went WAAAY up!

No, 21 is fine. Trust me, when I was 18 I wasn't mature enough to handle buying alcohol liberally. I still found ways to do it, but it shouldn't be an available product. As for the argument for people being able to vote when they're 18 but not drink I would say most people are far too retarded to vote intelligently when they're 18. Hence the voting age should be raised to 21. And I know goddamm well that I wouldn't trust any 18 year old with my back when going into Fallujah, so the military age should be raised to 21 as well. So no, the drinking age shouldn't be lower, the rest of these sad arguments should have their age raised.

Its more cultural than legal in any case. As previous posters have said in europe the culture is that that alcohol is to be enjoyed at a slow pace, with friends, and tasted not gulped down and consumed like what the typical American drinker does. It also isnt treated as somethign that is forbidden. As is most common across all races and ages having something forbidden just makes it all the more tempting even if they dont LIKE the taste. The fact that it was forbidden and now isnt is more than enough reason for people to drink.

OP is right though. At 18 you can:
Smoke,
Drive,
Vote,
Go to war and die.
You can not:
Drink.

Smoking is apparently all well and good when you are eighteen but god forbid you taste some fermented grains.

and... AND! I invoke Godwin's law.

Hitler drank too.

Yes, the fact that we can vote for who leads this country as well as buy a gun at 18 but can't have a drink with alcohol in it is ridiculous. Besides, it's not like the law stops people that are underage from drinking anyways.

If, in a court of law you can be tried as an adult (or if you are expected to pay tax even), you should have rights equal to those of adults. Anything less is blatant discrimination.

Yes, definitely. My one history teacher said it best. These aren't her exact words but she said somthing like "If your old enough to serve your country, and die for your country, you should be old enough to have a beer." Again, those aren't her exact words; but, the point has been made.

A teenagers' brain is at it's most vulnerable development stage after early childhood because they are effectively destroying neural pathways they have spent their entire live making in order to make the remaining ones more efficient. On top off that they are experiencing the highest levels of sex hormones in their lives so they are even more confused and can behave irrationally.
Many teenagers have difficult understanding consequence of their actions until it is too late or even basic altruistic thought like "I should not urinate in a sink that fellow co-workers have to use" (a teenager has done that at my job by the way). Add a narcotic like alcohol (any drug that can change your mood is a narcotic even cigarettes) it is a recipe for trouble.

I don't hate teenagers (as long as they are in small groups, three or more and I start getting annoyed by how they wreck an aisle) in fact I am a huge fan of a saxophonist named Grace Kelly ( http://www.gracekellymusic.com/ ) who is an amazingly talented teenager, keyword teenager not teenagers. If I saw three Grace Kelly's laughing and giggling down an aisle while trying to steal condoms I'd probably begin to debate whether or not to chase them out with the vacuum, I have had to do that, or waste the night stalking them so they won't snag a box of condoms because they are too embarrassed to pay for them.
Back to point it's easier to say stupid than emotionally confused or mentally mis-wired or some other PC bullshit.

I found this data on US drink driving as well through a Gallup Organisation poll.

I would also raise the point that several US states have a ludicrously high BAC at 0.08%.
i agree with this image, the drinking age should be 50
Or men should not drink.

it dosent say anything about them lowering the drinking age.
nor dose it say anything about deaths during that time.
