The United States is bigger than every other country albeit Russia, China, Canada.

Texas is bigger than any country in Europe
Just because it's the "biggest", doesn't mean that it should be on the poll listed on its own when everything else is so generalized.
If the EU was a nation it would have a population of roughly 450,000,000 (As of October 2006). The United States has a population of 306,000,000 (as of April 2008). Texas is bigger than any country in Europe, but it has a much smaller population density. Beyond Japan (possibly) some european countries are the most densly populated on earth, the United Kingdom and Germany spring to mind.

On its own Germany has a population of aproximatly: 82,000,000 (as of Jan 2009)
On its own the UK has a population of 61,000,000 (as of January 2009)
Together Germany and the UK have a population equal to not quite half that of the United States. These are two countries that together would probably be roughly the size of two of the USA's states. Size does not dicatate "size", so to speak.

Oh and I'm "European".

Ireland. But I was born in Hungary and moved here when I was about 8.
Oh, my shameful Eastern/Middle European roots..
Truly the armpit of that continent. Figuratively.

I'm from Antarctica, may I ask why my home continent isn't on the poll?
Ah well you'll just have to join me on the Aussie poll, at least we will double our score then. :)
It is the closest, I'll have to go with that then.

It simply is for the purposes of this poll, read the posts on page 1 for more.

North America (Not USA) would just be.. Canada, right? >_>
a Riddle... I was born in North America but I am not from the USA, Canada, or any of Central America. This place is completely surrounded by another country.

WHERE WAS I BORN?

England for me, in good old Canterbury.

By the way, it really ought to be Oceania rather than Australia.

England.

Why the hell isn't Britain on there? We might technically be part of Europe but the sentiment in England sure as hell isn't pro-europe.

If the US gets added as well as being in North America I demand Britain be added separately too!

Just out of curiosity and to test a theory I have about another thread, I just want to know where everyone is from. You dont have to get any more detailed than what country you are from, in fact you can even keep that bit of info to yourself and just vote on one of the continents in the poll.

I have a reason for including the USA on its own and no im not just being ego centric here.

As for myself im from Texas, USA.
The statistic's seem very accurate and don't surpise me at all

Totally agree.

However, by that you could argue that every country (or whatever Britain is - I doubt we are a country cos what are England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland then?) should be seperate - and 8 options won't cover them all.

Washington state. I noticed a few Washington DCers mentioning that they can't just say "Washington"...and is that ever a relief to hear. I get so fed up with people assuming I'm from DC when I say Washington. I guess we're just lesser known?

I live in Reno, but I'm FROM Boston. Big difference.

Look on the bright side. You don't live somewhere that looks better in Fallout 3 than it does in real life. I've been to DC and if I never set foot there again it'll be too soon.
