Poll: Sonic in 3D, What would you do to make it work?

I think that they need to make them like Sonic Adventure 1 and 2. Those are definitely the best 3D Sonic games.

My idea would have sonic in a 3d game, but on certain pathways you can press a button and it turns the camera to a 2d angle. Kinda like that one mario game, but no so crappy.

The only good 3D Sonic games are the adventure games.
So i say they make an adventure 3 or something like that.
But if they don't want to do that then they should just go back to 2D.

Sonic Unleashed is the spiritual sequel to Sonic Adventure in all reality. In Japan its called, Sonic World Adventure.

I strongly, strongly disagree with the 2d gameplayers, because as a realist, I know this won't happen, because there are few newer generation gamers who would enjoy a 2d game, now a 3d sidescroller is different but anyway...

All they need to do is to go back to sonic Adventure 2 Battle, I loved this game, so much fun! And the Chao thing was a brilliant side adventure.

I just beat Sonic and Knuckles with Sonic for the first time! It was fun going through levels I hadn't gone through before, and I also had no idea how much shorter the knuckles game was in comparison.

Sonic in most recent games has been very corny as well. A human princess kissing a dead anthropomorphic hedgehog is just creepy, and in Sbk i'm sure we'll have to endure something with sonice and merlina.

Make the games like little big planet. Still rendered in 3D, just restricted to the 2D plane.

Erase all Sonic games that came after Sonic 3 from history and the minds of everybody , and keep it in 2D from that point on, forever.

In the poll I chose the "Eggman" to "Robotnik" option, because it's NOT FUCKING EGGMAN! Before Robotnik became what you see, he was Dr. Kintobor. Backwards = Robotnik! I don't know why they decided to cripple the games in this way for the American crowd. Did they think 3 syllables was too many for you or something?

Actually Dr. Kintobor is the anti Robotnik in an alternate universe. His name beforehand was Julian Ivo Robotnik.

It just makes more sense to me. I mean, take the two names. Imagine you didn't know either. Now who would you be more afraid of by name, Dr. Robotnik or EGGMAN?!? Oh well, if the games don't improve dramatically or go back to 2D, it won't matter because the poor little blue guy will be forgotten by all.

Sonic = lots of f-ing speed. if it dont have that. its not sonic for me. gotta be faster than any game ever!

also, its to cartoony, needs to grow up a little too since he's not quite as popluar (and ppl aint so forgiving) as mario games.

And dont get me started on the crappy voice acting. shivers down my spine. story also pathetic...

3D Sonic game just doesn't work period, but I have to be honest; I thought Sonic and The Secret Rings was just a okay game.

It hasn't worked YET, and Secret Rings had so many problems. It could have been OKAY if the controls weren't so god awful, but we'll see about sonic and the black knight, if it keeps the look of secret rings, drops the controls, and mission based system. We might have a decent game.

I would say put him in 2d and add a map editor. If they HAVE to go 3d then make it like sonic adventure. For now on the story should be like the old SatAm cartoon.

Speaking of Sonic and the Black Knight, Nintendo Power already gave SBK 8/10 whereas they gave Secret Rings 8.5/10. I've done the math of all previous Nintendo Power reviews and these are my findings:

Does not sound very promising, but this is just by calculating averages. Let's see what my predictions say about 10 days from now!
