First one was good, second was ok, third was good again, but forth was complete garbage. I lost my interest in them. The ''bad guy'' died, the plot twisted itself and almost died and i don't know what the hell is happening there. At the end of 4 movie i thought to myself, 'Who's that dying? Was that the good guy? Why is that guy laughing? Was he the bad guy? Who are they? Why was it so boring?' At the end of the movie i did not know their names and their faces were unfamiliar even when they have been on screen for so long time.

No No and No. I work at Blockbuster and everytime I get asked when it's out I have to physically restrain myself. Seriously if you want to see the tastes of a nation then work in a Blockbuster..... you will seriously be appalled. I've never seen so many people rent so much shit.

I have to get a rake each night just to iron out the knuckle grooves in the carpet. WE'RE DOOMED I TELL THEE, DOOMED!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not me, that's for sure. I've never found anything interesting in any of the Saw series yet so there's not much point to me watching this one either.

Ok. They have made 6 movies in 5 years.
6 movies in 6 years actually.
No...
First one came out in 2004.

2009 - 2004 = 5
You have to include 2009 as well. 2k4, 2k5, 2k6, 2k7, 2k8, 2k9. 6 years. Now apologize to the Kiwi.
I will absolutely not apologise, because I am still right.
Saw 1 was released in December 2004, meaning that its doesn't count as a full year, as we are not yet to December 2009 yet. The number of the years is 5.

It seems a lot of people haven't actually seen the Saw films and just assume it's mindless killing and torture.

I'm definitely seeing 6, I loved all the films and the fact that every character has a story and a reason for being in the traps.

Edit: I guess I should be more lenient, I know they don't actually teach you to count in New Zealand.
6 in 6 years.

2004 - 1st year
2005 - 2nd year
2006 - 3rd year
2007 - 4th year
2008 - 5th year
2009 - 6th year

But nice try at counting, you were only one off!

I'll watch Saw when it actually gets good, i.e. pitting Jigsaw against Murdoc (You can't kill that guy...MacGyver proved it 7 times)

Lord knows where you get your information from, but I distinctly remember watching the first film for Halloween 2004.
It was actually first shown at the Sundance Film Festival of January 2004, so if that makes you feel any better, it's actually been closer to 7 years since the first film was shown to audiences.

Not at the cinema, but I'll watch it eventually. I never really got into the whole 'torture porn' scene, I'm pretty squeamish in watching films (weird, I can watch gore and blood in TV and some films, but I could never handle torture porn). However, last night when finishing some work in the living room I caught the end of Saw III which some of my housemates were watching. I watched from about halfway through (just before Jeff's tests started) until the end, and although it was really gory, I actually loved it. So I really want to see the rest of the series now.

So yeah, I'll watch Saw VI. Not in the cinema, but when it's on TV or something I'll go for it, definitely.

EDIT: Oh, and that Amanda? What a *****! Traps you can't escape from, what a way to twist Jigsaw's whole philosophy and purpose on its head and ruin the entire reasoning behind his actions...

I've never understood the popularity behind slasher films . . . if I want a scary movie, I'll go to something along the lines of "Paranormal Activity."
For the record, I don't understand why people think it's a horror movie, it's not. It has more in common with a mystery or a psychological thriller than a horror movie. Oh and Paranormal Activity was not scary in the least. Well paced and well-acted? Yes. Scary? No.

You need to count 2004 as well, it's not a zero.

If you really need me to spell it out for you: 1 movie every October, starting in 2004 =
2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009
1 2 3 4 5 6
6 years! Amazing!

I wouldn't normally be so caustic about it, but the arrogance shown in your edit irked me. (And no, I don't live in New Zealand).

Don't think i've ever seen the first Saw, but i've seen the 3rd and 5th one. Hated both of them, it's basically torture porn, and very unpleasant to watch. Now, i'm fine with gore, i devour warfilms and have seen countless guy's get their limbs blown off, guts erupting everywhere, bloody head shots and the like, wounds caused by a phosphorous grenade, guys burning to death, and i'm fine with it.
What i carn't stand is that the sole purpose of the Saw movies is just to watch someone struggle in pain in a very unrealistic situation, and probably die and painful death. To me, that is not entertainment, it's very unpleasant to watch. Rather like watching a fat guy take a dump.
Watch the first one if you can convince yourself to, the second one I think was alright, the third one, not really a fan, the fourth one same as the third and the fifth one I haven't seen yet.

I understand your reason for disliking the 3rd and 5th, ultimately you may not like the first either but have you ever seen a Disney movie's sequel and decided that the original must not have been good too? If you plainly can't stand the gore don't bother, if you're aiming to read beyond that then I'd suggest (without promising your enjoyment) that you watch the first.

No. I don't watch, follow, or care about modern mainstream cinema.
Whenever someone goes out of their way to notify others of this I imagine a little kid with a sign advertising non-conformism, ah yes! Everyone should be one.

Sorry about that, but jumping into a thread about a Mainstream movie in order to say that you don't watch em, surely you saw that coming.

Do I want to seesaw? No I prefer the Merry-go-round!

And in all seriousness, I enjoy the Saw films Jigsaw is an almost messianic figure. He allows people to see the truth of there own existence, allows his victim's if they survive to change there ways.

If you make a bad life choice your toast if not your alive and able to see your life in sharp focus to have a greater dedication to your existence.

Now I must go and tighten the bear traps on Nick Griffins head.

Eh.

I saw the first one, all I really felt it was, was a lot of people dying.

In very interesting ways no doubt. Only reason I watched the whole first one was because of the incredibly cool ways they die.

Never watched a Saw movie, but from what I hear it's just an excuse to put as much blood and gore into a film as possible which won't entertain me in the least. So no, I will not be seeing Saw VI.
