But yea, it would cost more than firing the Heavy's minigun. You'd have to commit all your money to a jedi killer gun.
thank you, just get the armor, if you are going to put THAT much time and effort into killing jedi, much more practical than crotsis bullets

1/2 hour later - nothing happens. The SSD is still slooooowly approaching Enterprise. People in 10-forward are pointing and laughing. At the last moment, Enterprise activates maneuvering thrusters and scoots out of the way, firing a photon torpedo up the center engine of the SSD (IE up the ass). Bye-bye asthma guy.
Garak, we both know that that wouldn't happen if the Star Destroyer had it's shields up.

Also, Garak is one of the coolest people on DS9, next to Odo. :p
:p - thanks!

Nah - in order for reaction drives to work, there must be a way for the matter to escape the shield. I figure there is a hole in the back. Or something like that.

Thats the most bullshit thing I've ever heard.
DS9 episode "Second Sight". TNG episode "Half a Life".
Are you refering to fiction because I called something Bullshit?

Bullshit means untrue or lie.
Star Trek isn't real no-matter how much you want it to be, and 'detonating supernovas' is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard, bar none.

Ah, sorry - thought you were arguing about the tech. But from that perspective it is hard to say. A hundred years some people thought that no heavier than air flying vehicle will ever be created. Sixty years later we were walking on the moon. And the technological singularity is approaching.

If we survive the singularity, who knows what will be possible?

What does 'ignighting supernovas' even mean?
Is it making a star go supernova?
Setting one on fire? (don't look at me like that, it's what it sounds like)
That's all I can think of

Yup, pretty much. Like the Sun Crusher.

Am I the only one who finds this debate even more sad than Gordon Freeman vs. Master Chief? And more embarrassing too, since I can totally follow the arguments on both sides (or four sides, if you include B5 and Stargate.)

I like star wars over star trek but I haven't really watched star trek much where I have seen every star wars movie. Maybe If I liked both Star Trek and Star Wars my opinion would be more valid.

Sad? It is way past sad - it went to AWESOME! Awesome to the max!

Seriously, it is just an excuse to do bullshit about various topics with application of physics, chemistry, and sci-fi. A step up from watching science fiction, with some science thrown into the mix.

What would a simple tailor know about physic or chemistry?

OK, Star Trek may have some useful tech for fighting, but Star Wars is fully equipped for battle, plus Star wars has Jedis and Sith who use lightsabers and the Force, and not mention Star Wars has the Death Star. Star Wars would definitely win

Darth Vader's Apprentice (from the new force unleashed game) just starts pulling shit out of the sky with the force and crashing it into planets.

How do you even defend against that?

I'm no scientist, so I don't know about a lot of the points raised so far, but I do know Star Trek owned Star Wars [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p55YD8QhQ3o] in real life.

Trekwars Episode IV:poor Data,We Hardly Knew Ye

The scene:The badly burned bridge of one USS Enterprise.Through the smoke we can make out Kirk and Picard, huddled close together and giggling like schoolgirls with a skin-mag.In the far corner Mr. Spock and Scotty(the old fat one) are puzzling over a piece of something-or-other they have lifted out of Data.Scotty furrows his brow, obviously stumped.

Scotty:"I'm afraid it will have to do.That LaForge kid put up a hell of a fight for a blind guy,and he seems to have damaged this chip when I was prying it from his dying hands.Incidentally Mr.Spock...How very unkind of ye to apply your Vulcan Death Grip to that particular part of his anatomy."
Spock:"It was logical...you had him in the 'Pretzel Move'. Anyway,he never saw it coming"

---They share a chuckle as Kirk and Picard make their way over.

Picard:"Reinsert the re-programmed memory-reproductor recapacitor and relay the..."
Kirk:(interrupting) "I'LL give the orders around here,Mr. Picard...Mr Spock, put that Doo-Hickey back into that...whatever, and let's get on with our attack."

Switch to TORPEDO ROOM-Picard,Spock and Scotty are stuffing Data into a torpedo tube head-first as Kirk is rubbing his hands together with malicious glee.Data is protesting(to Spock)that this very illogical as he is the brains of the entire outfit and therefore the most valuable asset...etc...etc... Spock simply shrugs and grabs a mop-handle to aid in stuffing the recalcitrant goldbrick into the tube.
Kirk:"Prepare for firing--tube 3"
---muffled protests from the tube are cut short as Picard says "Make it so"
Kirk:"Fire the Android"

Next time: et tu? et Machina

Star Wars. I'm not a huge fan of either but the Sith and Jedi are much cooler than anything you get in Star Trek.
