But I do find it - well - *very* unlikely that ST was made for any sort of realism. To put it mildly.

Heh. They try harder than SW. They have actual technical consultants (not that they listen to them too often). And many of the things mentioned in ST have been proven possible or already exist. Ion drives, cell phones, warp drives, etc.

I admit that I do not know much about ST, so if they have any of these things to counter this please tell me however my SW knowledge is rather vast, so I will just try to list what assests Star Wars has:

1. Superweapons out the ass: every single book involves a much more powerful superweapon than the last, the most powerful is the Sun Crusher, a small ship the size of a fighter, with invicible quantum plated armor, and torpedoes that can destroy STARS in one shot and if those dont work, (which they probably wont on a ship the size of the enterprise, it can just ram through it and tear it in half, it did that too a star destroyer

LOL - ST has those. Ships that erase you (or your ship or your species) from time, weapons that blow up stars, erase all life on a planet, time travel, as somebody mentioned here a bunch of ways to tear through space-time. Both space and time at once, or separately.

2. The Force: a mystical energy field that binds together all living things, and it comes in two flavors!

Ice cream comes in hundreds of flavors. Duct tape - dozens. What's your point?

1: the light side: battle medidation, it can really turn the tide of the battle, force heal, jedi mind trick, and energy absroption.

Is that the mind control like that pet Jedi of Thrawn did? Or is it individual? Both can be dealt with - the second one easier than the first, of course.

2: the Dark side aka The awesome side, sith can kill people just by looking at them, not to mention force lightning, and evil mind trick, where a sith could just make the captain drive straight through a black hole

And? There are mind control aliens all over ST. If you nuke anyone they die.

3. LIGHTSABRES!!! Yes, lightsabers can deflect phasers, becuse the only two things they cannote defend against are cortosis and other lightsaber blades

Not two. Many many many things. Shotguns. Phasers on wide beam. Grenades and various bombs. Flame throwers. Machine guns. Metal storm weapons. Transporters. Various bioweapons. Chemical weapons. LOL - water balloons. If you throw one, the water will burst into steam and scald the light saber user instantly. Probably fatally, considering the temperature.

4. Empire: since the empire was militarrily the strongest, most of the alliance and NR fleet is just "reaquired" from the empire the vast numerical might of the mepire coupled with huge star destroyers, all classes could own with thousands and thousands of ships and billions of soldiers, their war machine was nearly inexhaustable NR fought them for 20 years, and they are still going in the Legacy comics

Sorry, didn't read the comics. I don't think they even count as official. And the NR did not "reaquire" the fleet - there were huge battles. Plus while the empire may have billions of soldiers - the Borg have trillions. Just in their main base. Probably at least tens of trillions if you factor in all the various planets and cubes flying around.

Roddenberry was the reason why the crew doesn't argue in TNG. While he had a great vision of a peaceful earth, he was quick to dismiss things as not canon. Like if a TNG episode contradicted a TOS episode, he would make that part of the TOS episode not canon. It does sortof make sense, because you can't trust a '60s Sci-fi tv show to fit very well with it's modern day counter part.

Also, one thing that Trek has against Wars is that the next movie is actually going to be good, and we all know that the prequels, and that sucky Clone Wars movie were horrible. This thing has J.J. Abrams behind it.

Then the lightsaber will only short out for like a fraction of a second, theres just too little even if it was pure, a crotosis weave armour gives you a good 3-5 sceonds

besides, crotosis is a very rare ore, and artifical crotsis doesnt even work, if you were going to make it into bullets, that means you would use it to kill jedi on a regular basis, so you would have to have a considerable amount of them made, and if this was the senario, it would just be better for you to make the armor weave, because it would probably give you longer short circuit time

That's all the time you need for the bullet to pass through the lightsaber and into the jedi.

Dude, I know the guy who wrote that website. He knows me. I haven't been there in about 5-7 years, but it hasn't changed much. Makes about as much sense. Which is very little. He can dish out some numbers, but those numbers cannot be supported by the surrounding universe and most are not canon. They are full of holes if you dig into various thermodynamic implications.

I've stopped arguing with those guys because they are getting repetitive, and because my job is a lot more fun. It was taking too much time. Plus one of them once tried to sick some neonazi bastards to try to make me go away.
