I love them both equally.

Both great forms of fiction or genres or whatever.

But Steampunk wins it, if only because home-made Steampunk stuff is awesome.

If my computer were steam powered I would have a nice scolding hot cup of tea right now. Steampunk all the way until, or at least until tea time!

I know, that at the moment, it's internet cool to say you like steampunk, but I have to say that I like both equally depending on my mood. Steampunk is cool, with the idea of gears and well... steam doing what most modern inventions can do with circuits and wiring. Cyberpunk is cool in the dystopian future settings with implants and what not.
Bah! Internet cool is worthless! Unlike Cyberpunk, Steampunk is NOT about plausible or realistic technology. It's not really a subset of science fiction and is far closer to fantasy.

The main difference being that unlike most fantasy, which features silly idealized medievalism and magic, Steampunk throws in Urban Gritt, Impossible Machines and a more interesting Social Environment.

I like steampunk because it's giving a fictional twist on a factual period whereas cyberpunk is just any old futuristic stuff.

Steampunk has more of that classical fantasy feel to it. It may not make as much sense as cyberpunk, but I just like the aesthetic more.

Steampunk.

I must admit... I've been playing Rise of Nations: Rise of Legends lately though. :)

I enjoy both but I lean a bit more towards steampunk, perhaps because of the coolness that was Last Exile. It's not so much the whirring gears and such, but it was a unique setting that gave me an appreciation for steampunk in general.

Steampunk. I personally think people get more creative with steampunk and it gets more logic defying which gets funny after a while(ex. "I wasn't aware boiled water could form allegiances?" -Yahtzee).

I'd have to say Steampunk over Cyberpunk. Cyberpunk is pretty cool in that it's a version of the future with a more realistic (if sometimes grim) outlook than the Utopian view of, say, Star Trek. But I like Steampunk since the style of the Victorian Era, given a flair of fantastical steam-technology, just has this whimsical quality that I just find appealing. That and, you have to admit, they have some of the most awesome goggles in the world.

And I think I've now had my grammatical orgasm for today. :D

Steam Punk all the way. The spinning gears, the overall feel of things; It makes everything fun to look at.
