Poll: Suit Or Tux

My Prom is coming up and half my friends are wearing casual suits and half are wearing expensive tux's so what is the escapists view on this? What did you wear to your prom?

I wore a tux, but personally I never saw the point of dressing up for any occasion [i/]especially[/i] a high school dance. If it were up to me, wear what ever you wear normally.

There are so many forms of tuxedos nowadays, not all of them make you look like a penguin. I actually think the traditional look to tuxedos is outdated, get something classy looking and yet sleek and fresh..... yeah!

I owned several suits in High School, yet I rented a tux for prom. It didn't set me back that much if I remember correctly.

Female opinion: go tux. There's something sexier about a tux than suit. It implies class and taste. Of course, you'll probably muck up the impression the moment you crack a fart joke like my date managed...but the first thirty seconds will be gold.

Go with a tux because it's supposedly a special occasion. Do the corsage thing, get a nice tie, and just look good.
