"Anyone who is hurt by words needs to take a good hard look in the mirror and fall on a knife. At that point they'd find out words aren't as brutal as they were once lead to believe." - Adam Ferguson

What a stupid Police Officer.......

He should be fired. Poor girl.....

So anyway, cursing is OK.
I don't mind, but for some reason whenever a girl curses in excess I get mad. I guess I'm sexist. (It's actually because I just don't think that girls should curse, it's just not "proper for a lady")

It depends on the context in which it's used.

If it's every other sentence, then no, it makes you look like an uneducated idiot.

If it's to make a point, or if you just slammed the car door on your schlong, then it's appropriate.

As long as they don't use it every other word I don't care.

How anybody can be offended by a word like "fuck" is beyond me, I read somewhere that fuck is an abbreviation of fornication under the commandment of the king, so if he wanted a large army but only had a small village he would command people to have kids to increase the population and get his army. It has now taken on this offensive meaning but I doubt anybody could say why they are offended by it.

The old saying, "sticks and stones can break my bones but words can never hurt me" says that no matter what I say I can't hurt you, so how can a word that no longer has a meaning (that word is "fuck") hurt you?

Any word could have these connotations, take the word "chav" for example, 20 years ago you have got a funny look for saying it but now everybody knows it's an insult.

I don't think any word should be able to make adults be shocked at you or say that annoying sentence "watch your language" or just "language" (to which I say in a very slow and deliberate way ENGLISH).

I don't like swearing as a filler, in other words when people say something like "I went to the fucking shop and bought a fuckin' paper", blah blah. If you're going to swear, focus it on a thing or a person rather than being lazy about it.

And try to be creative: "fuckbag" is one of my favourites.

I think swear words need to be recognized as the idiotic immature words they truly are, and therefore let the little shits say them, but still get a back hand when they do and be told they sound like a fool.

Your answers in the poll don't fit my opinions.

As in I care, but in so much as they are pointless in adult conversation but it's not really that I mind that they're being used, rather I have the vocabulary dexterity not to need them and neither should any young adult and older.

Nah, swear words are just words witch means they should not harm.

Though, if a kids lets sat 10..11 says "yeah, I fucked that ***** last night. So I am not a virgin mother fuckers" I will usually get annoyed and say "If you have fucked someone, how is it. How does it feel?" I usually get no reply.

So yeah, swearing is ok, but kids using it. Nope.

The thing about words is that they are just words! The only thing that matters is the intent you put behind it.

Like if you say "FUCK!" just out of anger or something, then it's fine by me, but if you are using the word to insult someone, then yes, it's offensive.

Good lord! In an emergency call you language like that is to be expected. If someone believes that a relative is about to die, you can't expect them to be calm about it.

Everybody needs a filter. Don't curse around kids or old people(who care). Curse around Mormons as much as possible, it's like a repellent. In a public place, don't yell your curses. I think the only curse that still has any power is ****. Racial epithets will become the new swear words. It's like a reversal from the 1950s.
And tits doesn't even belong on the list.

EDIT:After watching that video, we need a new slur for cops. "Pigs","Fuzz", and "Filth" just aren't offensive enough. How about Baconcunts?

Good bloody hell, I figure an officer would be more used to swearing. Can anyone here recall having seen an episode of COPS without "harsh words"? Anyway, I'm not sure when the dialogue of poor people became offensive. (From what I've been told, swearing started with hoboes saying things and "upper class" pricks getting offended or something.)
Furthermore, for little or no reason, here's this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=facxjcH38TI

When its excessive or needless I always do a mind cringe for some reason, the only time I actually approve of it is when its funny otherwise I won't mind.

I don't really like to swear myself though unless playing it for funnies or if I stub my toe. And if my stub my toe I let out a chorus of F-Bombs.
