I has 4 but only have 1 I really regret. The others do need a touchup though, the ink is getting pretty faded from all the sun. They aren't as painful as some of you make it out to be, if you can handle a little prolonged torture that is. =P
All my brothers and I went to get matching tattoos on our elbows. Everyone has a circular pattern of some sort around the left elbow with our birth order number in So mine is a real techy looking '7' with a sprocket around it.
The stained glass window by my grandparents front door. On my inner bicep on the left arm. Which was mostly white, gold, and sky blue glass making a six sided diamond shape with copper wiring forming a piece of wheat in the middle. It looks pretty sharp.
On the outer bicep of my left arm is Stylized anvil. Cuz my last name means 'anvil' in Norwegian. And lastly, where my collar bone and sternum meet (whatever that thing is called) a Thor's Hammer. Cuz my name is Thor. I also have the name of my daughter over my heart. Her mother committed suicide when 8 months along
The only reason I got a tattoo was because it meant something. Two years ago my Dad passed, and I thought it would be good to get a tattoo. It's a celtic cross with a rose in the middle, the stem wrapped around it, and a banner near the top that says "Dad." Did it hurt? Like a son of a *****. Do I regret it? I did when I first got it cuz I stayed off work for a bit and ran out of money, but I don't regret it anymore, and won't mind having it the rest of my life.
i tattooed a heart and ribbon on my wrist when i was 17. i dont regret that (even though it has the initials of my now ex boyfriend on it).
however, i do regret a misshapen black blob i now have on my knuckle from that same time.... eh, i thought i was a good idea at the time?
This pic was taken just after I had it touched up about a month after I got it done.
I've had it for just over a year now and I still like it. The design is something I devised myself when I was 14/15. Whenever the teen angst was pressing hard on my shoulders, I'd go back to this design and tweak it. It has some pretty deep roots. I can trace the basic design to when a friend and I used to play superheroes when we were 4 and 5 years old.
I can't see myself regretting it in future (but then again, I'm no psychic). For me, it represents a milestone in my life. And i take solace in the fact that, however shit it may appear to somebody, it was part of my life for a long time before I got it indelibly etched into my dermis.

He got a tattoo on his forearm that says "Only God Can Judge Me". When I saw it, I was only surprised because he's not religious at all. He just likes Tupac.
Wow. Just wow...
I'm a big supporter of original ideas and designs. my own opinion probably screwed by the fact I designed my own, but hey!
In my opinion, if you're prepared to get something as permanent as a tattoo, you need to think long and hard about what you want. It's much better to go into a tattoo parlour and ask the tattooist if they can devise something to suit you than pick something off the wall. Nobody should ever get a tattoo for the sake of getting a tattoo.
I'd like one, but I can't come to a decision on one to have. It has to be something profound and meaningful, after all it'll be grafted into my flesh. So I'll probably have one one day, but as of yet nothing has struck me as the tattoo to get.
not at the moment, but i plan on getting one of a lion over the left side of my chest, back and upper left arm. just need to decide on the design and then get some money.
I'd definitely like one, but it would have o be something that i would be proud of for the rest of my life, and it would have to be inconspicuously placed.
I would rather not. Ever. If I did it would be something simple, like a yin yang symbol or anything small, cheap, not long to get done and yet still quite profound.
Unfortunately I'm not old enough to get a tattoo. However I would quite like one (but after I've considered it again and again and again and really decided on it).
Risks of tattoos: decrease in earnings potenial, decrease in attraction to potential (worthwhile) mates, looking like a douche, mistakes by artist, obscolescence of image, changes due to aging
Rewards of tattoos: easier to attract chicks with blood-bourne illnesses and psychiatric disorders
