Interesting, it took 6 posts for someone to compare Metallica with another group and feel offended by people hallowing the first group, as well as generating a discussion which is as pointless as hilarious.

Oh, and I think we're forgetting some songs in the list, such as Nothing Else Matters, Enter Sandman, Ride the Lightning, etc...

But amongst that list, THE MASTER OF PUPPETS IS PULLING MY STRINGS!
Specially after the S&M version.
Not even a full orchestra can sound louder than Metallica :D

Oh, and did you know that Hetfield's mother was an opera singer?
Goes in the genes, baby :p

My personal favorites are Of Wolf and Man, The Thing That Should Not Be, and more recently, The Unforgiven III. All Within My Hands gets an honorable mention, simply for the last thirty seconds or so.

Out of this list, however, I'm torn between One and Master of Puppets. I suppose One, because it identifies with a character I once made for a story.

You missed so many of their best songs.
What about Disposable heroes?
Out of those I chose Creeping Death.
And yeah, I hold this guy's hand up too
YOU WILL DO AS I SAY, WHEN I SAY SO!

for gods sake, pretty much the only decent ALBUM (listen to me fanboys) is the black album

they do good songs but there are usually about 2 good songs per album or less imo

the black album has enter sandman, sad but true, nothing else matters and my all time favourite the unforgiven. Whats more these are my favourite 4 songs by metallica. yet NONE of these are mentioned. I am sickened.

(p.s. maiden ftw)

Are you saying Ride The Lightning, Kill 'em All, Master of Puppets, ...And Justice For All, Load and Reload only have 2 good songs or less? Are you kidding me, I can't even call you a fan, what you said just now is just sick!

Master Of Puppets got me into Metallica, Unforgiven II got me out of them. Unforgiven III made me laugh.

I try my best everyday but I didn't get a good education and I have to learn by reading but I have improved alot in the last couple of years in case you are interested. The only word I misspelled was 'most' which is just a typo, if I saw it, I would have edited it straight away.
It wasn't your spelling that confused him, it was your punctuation. You implied that he thought that Metallica were better than Iron Maiden, rather than you thinking that. Anyway, don't worry. I explained what you meant to him.

No fade to black, four horsemen, for whom the bell tolls, hit the lights, disposable heroes etc etc etc(Really I could go on, you have barely listed any of my favorite metallica songs).

The thing about metallica is that it is impossible to make a vote based thread giving all the options that deserve to be given (IE. all songs off their first four albums).

Nothing from the Black album is mentioned here.

Nothing Else Matters, Enter Sandman, Don't Tread on Me, Unforgiven are some of my all time favourite songs.

If forced to pick one it is probably Nothing Else Matters - I identify with this song so I love it.

I feel you made me out to be an idiot after you wrote "I'm aware that he's using hyperbole, bad grammar and incorrect spelling (all within the same post!)", so I needed an excuse to save myself. I didn't think you meant any harm and I know your only trying to help but that is what I felt.

In that case, I apologise.

For the sake of credibility, I'd have to go for something from "Ride The Lightning". Although I like "Enter Sandman" and (shamefully) their ballads, like "Nothing Else Matters" ^_^

Of the options above I choose Master of Puppets, although it would really be Ride The Lightning or Fade to Black.

Metallica got me into the genre so I have fond feelings for them but they lost me in 2003 with that godawful travesty called St Anger.
