I don't think it looks completely stupid, at least HER costume doesn't remind me of Goatse every time I see it.

Anyway. I actually like her costume a lot. I might go out on a limb and say it's my favorite Catwoman costume.
My only problem is the headgear. You can see her whole face. It's an unbecoming look for an art thief.

I hope that in the context of the movie everyone know who Catwoman is and they just can't touch her for some political reason or what ever because her hair, her lips, her entire face it's all out there. it reminds me of

Oh, then more is required, She is an equivalent of Catwoman for Spiderman, but different universes (Spidey is marvel, Bats is DC, they don't cross over) So not a bad comparison to make.

I never said it was practical, just that I like how it looks. But yeah, you do have a point. On that vein of thought she should also probably zip that top up, but whatever.

...That's a joke right? For the same reason Batman is called Batman. They dress like their respective animals. She is also a cat burglar.

It is not a joke. Batman was afraid of bats and dressed like a bat to instill a fear of bats into the populace. Catwoman dresses like a cat because... she's... a cat burglar...

... That's just plain silly. It doesn't even make sense. Just because your profession is a cat burglar does not mean you dress like a cat.

No, this movie will have some explaining to do. I demand that she has a traumatic experience with cats when she's younger or possibly that she made her fortune developing lolcats.

Edit: Unless you didn't understand the question, in which case... woops. "Why does she dress like a cat and call herself cat woman when it can only be harmful to her career prospects?" is more what I was asking.

She does it because of Batman, she's like the anti Batman.

Yeah, Batman is just fine. He is cool, he looks bad ass, he looks the part. I don't know how you can fail when one is built like a tank with heavy and advanced weapons, while the other is dressed in a skimpy outfit that doesn't hide shit and tries acting like a cat. Well, hopefully they try not to make her act like a cat.

Looks fairly good. Not the best Catwoman, but not the worst either, if the actress is good (which I can make no comment on as I have never see anything with Anne in) then it should be fine.

Her head/face is too exposed, but even this particular weak costume is better than the ones you mentioned (one being way too open, the other looking like she just came out of an S&M shoot). Arkham City's catwoman costume was adequate, but that one had its issues as well.

Catwoman has never had a good costume in any of the movies she's appeared in and this one is no exception. It's just a tiny improvement.
