I don't think you understood my question. How would that prove anything? The Geth aren't necessarily opposed to peace, so it's not that they need to be convinced that peace would be a good idea. It's just that they don't trust the Quarians (with good reason, of course). They want to see proof that no more Geth would be attacked by Quarians. How would any conference deliver proof of that?SomethingAmazing said:They could just explain how they see that an alliance between the Geth and the Quarians is much more beneficial than wiping them out.Hurr Durr Derp said:How would that prove anything? Legion said that the Geth don't trust the Quarians not to attack them at the first possible opportunity, so why would they suddenly start trusting them now?
As I said, the Quarians aren't a hivemind like the Geth. They're individuals, making their own decisions. What's more, most of them hate the Geth (again, with good reason). Even if all Quarian leaders would agree to an alliance with the geth (which is already highly unlikely), there would still be thousands, if not millions of Quarians who want to see the Geth dead and/or driven from their homeworld. Just saying that they have good intentions and suddenly want to be the Geth's BFF doesn't prove a thing, especially since it's made clear that the Geth will likely think of it as some kind of trap.
My point is that the Geth's desire for proof is unrealistic considering the circumstances, and any promises made by the Quarians would inevitably prove to be rather hollow since, unlike the Geth, they can't 'build consensus'. The trial scene is proof enough of that.
