It's like watching South Park or anything along those lines, it's suppose to be rude and offensive and funny at the same time, if you watch it and get offended you probably shouldn't be watching it.

So no I'm gay and I'm not offended.

You obviously do mind if you bother making such a useless poll. Plenty of people say ******, and really it is a word that will be used for quite some time. Just because Yahtzee says it doesn't mean it is any worse than anyone else saying it.

I'm in the GLBT community, and if I heard anyone say they were offended by this I'd tell them to grow up. People who take offense to everything and try to censor everyone just hurt the cause, how can we be treated like normal people if everyone thinks they have to pussyfoot around what they say? Yahtzee is not homophobic, he uses the words in a sarcastic or joking way. Heck, I call my gay friends faggots all the time and they do the same to me, but it's all in good humour. Maybe if it was used in a genuinely derogatory and homophobic way towards someone, then MAYBE there'd be reason to get pissed off.

The root meaning of ****** is someone who isn't fit to be part of society. That's what it's original connotations were.

It started as a bundle of sticks used for firewood, then it became associated with people who were so poor that they had to collect little bundles of firewood to sell, then it became associated with old crony women, and then eventually it became most famously associated with gay people. It's not got anything specific to do with gay people, it's just that gay people were once not welcome members of society, so the term became applied to them.

Once gay people are largely accepted into society (and I believe that they are), ****** will start to mean something specifically different. Or it won't. In the information age, things like this change strangely, because people are privy to so much more information from all over the globe then they used to be. The problem is that some gay people have taken on the term as a mark of pride amongst themselves. That will hurt the change that will make it not offensive to gay people because it prolongs the time when it's used to be associated with them. Hopefully, it will change eventually, because the root meaning of the word is much more interesting and says a lot more about our society then its specific meaning at this point in time.

But it will always mean "Someone who is not fit to exist in society" - at least in the eyes of the speaker. When you call a gay person a ******, that's what you're calling them. You're saying "You don't deserve to exist in society because of your station in life" So if you look at it in that context, everything he said is correct.

Most of the time I barely notice the specific words he uses. More often I'm just desperately trying to hear or see the imagery that makes him funny. Most of his imagery is just gross or obnoxious. That's what bothers me.

It doesn't bother me at all, because I'm not gay. I understand why the gays would be offended, but I really don't care about their problems. I support their struggle for equality, but only in spirit, never in time, effort, or resources. I should also think they have many more important things to worry about than some fellow's choice of foul language.

Well, no because Trey Parker changed the meaning last year
Fag (făg) n.

1. An extremely annoying, inconsiderate person most commonly associated with Harley riders.

2. A person who owns or frequently rides a Harley.

Nope, words never bother me at all.

I get called ******, queer, and gay all the time and I just don't care because they aren't directing it at me to harm me (usually) but even if they were I still wouldn't care because its just a damn word

No, not really. I only don't like the word if it's used in a hateful sense towards someone who's homosexual.

The word "******" or "fag" doesn't really come off as an insult towards gays anymore, rather just an insult towards someone in general like calling them a "dick" or something like that.

It's a bit ridiculous to be offended by it in this point in time unless it's directed towards someone who is gay in a hateful and intolerant sense.
basically my feelings on this. im not gay so i can't quite comment on the feeling of it part of being called a "******" in a intolerant sort of way, which i think is wrong, but anytime someone uses a racial or stereotype (such as honkey or fat chode cracker) word towards me usually i just laugh and think its hilarious so that kind of stuff doesn't bother me at all

The Web of Shadows review? That was an example of what a fuckin' ninny the black suit combat is versus the actual fun of web-slinging. I thought that was really clever.

Anyway, I'm not about to get bent out of shape because he mentioned Aspergers Syndrome kids being attracted to shiny objects (I forget which one that was...), so I don't see why anyone would be bothered by him saying, "******". Don't worry, Yahtzee's an equal opportunity asshole... he's no bigot!

I'm gay and I'm not one bit offended by it, I'm to busy laughing my ass off as he rips apart another defenseless game.
