You have a thread about the PS3 and yet did not include Metal Gear Solid...
OP, you got some 'splaining to do.
WHOOOPS! [cue detection sound and exclamation mark over my head]
I have absolutely,COMPLETELY forgotten about MGS4. Maybe because it's more of a movie than a game.
I'll change Resistance to MGS,'kay?
Screw you! MGS series has been a face for the Playstation as a whole, but with it's port to Xbox, it's hardly worth being the "Face" of the PS3. Resistance, a core PS3 exclusive, it's much more deserving! If anything take out a dumb game, like Rachet and clank.
Screw
you! Who sais your opinion is more dominant than anyone elses to change options?!
MGS series? As a whole? My friend, you've must have missed out on Twin Snakes, and Substance. Not to mention on the Gameboy Color as well. Now, what makes you think Rachet and Clank is a dumb game? I respect your opinion, but I'm just curious.
First of all, although I've played the MGS series in the past, I haven't really owned their games and have only followed major title launches. I also know that they have a unique relationship with Sony, but the fact that they're consistently port their games to other consoles I think makes them unworthy of being the "Face" of the PS3. Not only would it make a bad argument (hey, PS3 has MGS, which you'll get soon, but it's soooo much better on the PS3 just cause...), but it would be like saying Call of Duty were the face of the PS3... it doesn't make any sense when all the other consoles have it too.
Now, Ratchet and Clank is a good game for the platformer genre (a genre I'm not particularly fond of, in spite of it's revolutionary and often times great games).
Regardless, it's a "dumb" game. It's like a kiddy game. Yes, I've played it, I know there's tons of customization elements that can make it very indepth, plus there's an ok at worst and great at best storyline that propels the saga, etc. But that doesn't mean it is "mature" game. For the record, no, a game doesn't have to be mature to get a good place (my second vote to Resistance would be LBP), but for God's sake, you're playing as a friggen squirrel (or whatever...) shooting giant
toy robots; and the developers expect you to take the overall plot of the game just as seriously (albeit with a different tone) as many of the more mature games. At least LBP knows it's audience and what it's trying to accomplish, thus it gets away with being a kiddy game because it's intentional and it doesn't try to be something it's not.
