You should never sacrifice freedom for security.gmaverick019 said:while that is a bit more along the lines of 1984..with big brother.. i can't say i disagree horribly, but yes that was a very rough worse case scenario picture of what i was thinkingDelsana said:It's quite possible that slavery while not ideal for us, might be the best way for us to be fixed in a quicker timeframe... not slavery like doing menial work, but definitely being aligned and reigned in... shown our place...gmaverick019 said:if it made the world a better place for everyone? no hunger? no wars?NightHawk21 said:Why would you want to give someone complete and utter control over your entire life?gmaverick019 said:it is impossible to not abuse power in some way, even in the slightest, so yes, anyone would abuse it, but to abuse it the least amount? you would definitely not be the candidate if shown by your rash pick in your original statement.NightHawk21 said:Everyone would.Delsana said:Actually this is the perfect answer, let me show you why.NightHawk21 said:As an impartial judge I would say that I must know the location of the secret god giving super power thing so I can protect it from everyone. OT: If I can't choose myself than no one deserves to be god.
As in all cases, the one who WOULDN'T want power is the best choice... because they would never abuse it.
You would.
I would give up my freedom right now in a heartbeat.
Like in the original post, it would up to our pick, and i would pick someone i think to be very level headed who wouldn't interfere unless absolutely needed into peoples lives, i wouldn't pick a control freak who needs to enslave everyone.
Sometimes the best things come out of the darkest moments.
having a superior being, a god, can make things nice and orderly, lawful, while as of now with everyone running around as equals with anyone being able to take the power, leaves lots of room for chaos and disorder.
