Why yes I remember the first and currently only time I asked a girl out. We've been good friends for over a decade and I had a thing for her for most of those years. Back in January I finally asked her out in person and she said yes. 'Twas amazing except for how something would keep coming up each weekend until about a month later when she got two of our friends to inform me that she'd changed her mind. Hopefully if you get a yes it will actually lead to a date.
same thing happened to me...except I will be seeing her tomorrow. One more weekend of I'm too busy and I would of told her to never mind. Sucks for you

First time's always the hardest. This is true for pretty much anything in life. And yes, it's unnerving, but you know, "no risk no gain". If you never take a chance, you'll always fail for sure, you fail by default... Worse case scenario you try and fail, which is the same result as never trying, so you can only get better or stay the same.

My views on that are simple: Go for it, you lose nothing. Just stay away from my girl, or I'll gut you.

...I'm not kidding and I'm not being metaphorical, I will turn you into a human version of those paper snowflake things.
I read your last few sentances, I loled, and then I called out "damn straight" to an empty room. Im prolly crazy, but I knew that alrady.

Yes, she strung me along with "I'm busy" for way too long before I asked her if I should just give up. She had just gotten out of a long relationship and said she needed time to be single. She was dating one of the people on my top 5 idiots ive met list, and on my top 3 people ive hated list 2 days later. Sooo glad she did that, the more time that passes the more I learn that she is a ***** in every way and they deserve eachother, but it still hurt like hell at the time.
The first girl I asked out gave me the excuse "Mabey" God I have always hated that word. And ever sense that, I have been on a quest to remove the word from the english dictionary.

You might as well forget it until the reply, since there is nothing you can do to change the outcome of it now.

Just an FYI, it's always better to ask someone out in person.

OT: I've only ever been on one date, and I do remember it.
I know, but I will most likely never see this girl in person again.
So... how are you actually asking her out if you aren't going to 'go out' with her?

Just about 30 minuites ago, I sent a message to this girl I have liked sense I was in the 5th grade... This message was asking her out.
I don't know you and I don't know this girl. What I do know is that generally speaking girls do not appreciate being asked out via text message.
She will most likely refuse - unless she really likes you.

Even if you get rejected, don't give up! Move on to another lovely lady, and this time try
to be more bold and ask her out directly (face-to-face).
Well, (I didn't text her) This was the only way to comunicate with her, I will probably not see her again unless she says yes. Riddle me how else I could have asked her, STALK HER??? Seriosly though, was their another way I could have done this?
ask her phone number with said communication device?

If she says yes, we will see eachother again, I was just saying if she says no, I probably won't.

I'm mulling over asking a girl out as we speak...

Its awkward
Good luck if you do.
Thanks!
I might just join in. Hmm, I already know 2 people that would say yes quicker than I'm typing this. They
aren't particularly attractive but they are equally as friendly and funny.
Sounds like the girl I like. I'm gonna go for it.
Hope it ends well for you.
And you, if you decide to ask one of those 2 you mentioned.

Well I draw some solace from the knowledge that you haven't suffered the same unfortunate conclusion that I did. You enjoy tomorrow my good man.

Yeah, I actually think it was more uncomfortable for her than it was for me because she liked me for a long time befroe I asked her out. She nearly fainted when I did. It was quite amusing really.

I completely agree, it's very annoying and just isn't an answer. I personally prefer no over maybe.

I never asked someone out or was asked out, so I chose pancakes. Pancakes are awesome.

Relax, man. The thing to remember is the worst thing she can say is no, and a straight up "no" is much better than not asking her and wondering what might have been.

Yup, she had an Xbox so inside a game I gave her I wrote a note asking her out and she said yes.
That is so awesome! :D

I remember the first girl I asked out, and she said yes. Our first date ended up being eight or so hours and from there we spent nearly two happy years together, from Canada to Australia.

OT - Hope you have an answer by this point. We're all here for advice if you need it! Good luck buddy. :)

Well,it is a little embarassing, but in my case the girl I liked asked me out first, before I was able to overcome my fears and tell her.I was also lucky when I think about it...

The first couple of times you ask people out, it's pretty trying, but pretty soon you figure out that you're really no worse off if they reject you than you were if you never asked.
