Why yes I remember the first and currently only time I asked a girl out. We've been good friends for over a decade and I had a thing for her for most of those years. Back in January I finally asked her out in person and she said yes. 'Twas amazing except for how something would keep coming up each weekend until about a month later when she got two of our friends to inform me that she'd changed her mind. Hopefully if you get a yes it will actually lead to a date.

same thing happened to me...except I will be seeing her tomorrow. One more weekend of I'm too busy and I would of told her to never mind. Sucks for you

First time's always the hardest. This is true for pretty much anything in life. And yes, it's unnerving, but you know, "no risk no gain". If you never take a chance, you'll always fail for sure, you fail by default... Worse case scenario you try and fail, which is the same result as never trying, so you can only get better or stay the same.

My views on that are simple: Go for it, you lose nothing. Just stay away from my girl, or I'll gut you.

Yes, she strung me along with "I'm busy" for way too long before I asked her if I should just give up. She had just gotten out of a long relationship and said she needed time to be single. She was dating one of the people on my top 5 idiots ive met list, and on my top 3 people ive hated list 2 days later. Sooo glad she did that, the more time that passes the more I learn that she is a ***** in every way and they deserve eachother, but it still hurt like hell at the time.

The first girl I asked out gave me the excuse "Mabey" God I have always hated that word. And ever sense that, I have been on a quest to remove the word from the english dictionary.

Just about 30 minuites ago, I sent a message to this girl I have liked sense I was in the 5th grade... This message was asking her out.

I don't know you and I don't know this girl. What I do know is that generally speaking girls do not appreciate being asked out via text message.
She will most likely refuse - unless she really likes you.

Even if you get rejected, don't give up! Move on to another lovely lady, and this time try
to be more bold and ask her out directly (face-to-face).

Well, (I didn't text her) This was the only way to comunicate with her, I will probably not see her again unless she says yes. Riddle me how else I could have asked her, STALK HER??? Seriosly though, was their another way I could have done this?

Yeah, I actually think it was more uncomfortable for her than it was for me because she liked me for a long time befroe I asked her out. She nearly fainted when I did. It was quite amusing really.

I completely agree, it's very annoying and just isn't an answer. I personally prefer no over maybe.

Yup, she had an Xbox so inside a game I gave her I wrote a note asking her out and she said yes.

I remember the first girl I asked out, and she said yes. Our first date ended up being eight or so hours and from there we spent nearly two happy years together, from Canada to Australia.
