Poll: What do you prefer Face Book or The Escapist?

The Escapist.

Generally I hate the idea of Facebook, I use it to keep in contact with people I actually care about and to enter competitions.

It was an old friend for me. He wanted to stay in touch with me. It didn't occur to me that by signing up on that site, I would also be put back in contact with alot of people I wish I had never heard from again. >_>

The Escapist, definitely. I prefer forums to social-networking sites, it's easier to have an actual conversation.

Plus, my dad is on Facebook. Any visits I make to that site have to be quick or he'll spot me and try to talk to me.

I prefer the Escapist. I don't have Facebook, much to the horror and astonishment of my friends. They don't seem to quite understand that not everyone wants to have Facebook.

Yes, maybe you should. Thing is, I spend way more time on Facebook, but that doesn't mean I prefer it, or that I like it more than here. For me, Facebook is just a tool I use to keep up with the comings and goings of all of my friends and , as such, I visit it whenever I go on my computer. The escapist, however, is more of a recreational website that i go on when I have the time.

Facebook hands down, tho i do loathe Farmville and all of it's descendants. I spend half my mornings piecing together the previous night out and remembering all the random stuff that occurred, such is the life of a student

Indeed. It's funny how those old 'enemies' (or whatever they were) of yours suddenly start sending you friend requests. I mean, what's up with that? Why'd you wanna know about my comings and goings now when you couldn't care less for me when we knew each other in real life... -_-

Well the two things are really quite different. I wouldn't necessarily say one is better than the other, but Facebook is damn useful for organising shit. And sharing hilarious stuff... It's basically a forum that I and my friends and family are on, and no one else. Except when I foray onto the Metal Hammer page or something. I don't quite get the hate.

I spend more time on here. browsing the forums and watching videos.

If I browsed Facebook forums all I'd find is, "YoUUUu FKIN rRrRAcisT ****!!1!!! Uu fKin lyk WHIte choc MORe thAn dARK!!11!" and videos of little immature boys setting fire to their farts.

Facebook doesn't have forums...XD

OT: I have a lot of friends that I love to talk to online, so I like Facebook a lot. Plus it's great for promotion and networking. (hey, being a musician requires this shit at some point)

However, I love The Escapist equally as much for it's forums and video content, so it's a tie between the two.

This. I mean I don't get the fuzz about it, and refuse to join in on all the hype unless it provides me clear and undeniable benefits, with low to no drawbacks. As it stands now, the only benefit is that you're 'in', and the drawbacks are a shitload of spam and a hole your privacy fence.
