Console players will not be able to handle its complexity and will be driven insane. No one but a hardcore PC gamer can fathom the depth of the story and the sophisticated characters.

/PC master race
Hehe, that reminds me of that guy who worked on Crysis, who railed on Halo calling it bullshit with a crappy story. I was like "yeah, and Crysis was the War and Peace of the videogame world obviously. Someone isn't very good at critiquing their own work."
Yeah. I remember that story and the one about him calling modern wafare two bad as well. I laughed so hard because he seemed to think his was a masterpiece.

Dont get me wrong I love the game but the storyline is a far cry (no pun intended) from a master piece.
You're talking about Richard Morgan, head writer for Crysis 2. He didn't have anything to do with the production of Crysis. He's never had anything to do with the production of any video game, for that matter, having written books exclusively up to this point.

He should probably keep his mouth shut until a game he's written is actually finished.
That was already pointed out a while ago
Okay. Didn't feel like reading all 100+ posts. You know, having a job and stuff...
Sorry I wasnt being snarky there I was just mentioning it.

How is this going to take down PC gamers a peg or two?
Yeah, turning a glorified tech demo/benchmark into an actual game. I feel taken down.
I always enjoyed Crysis Wars, but then again, most people never actually gave it a chance and just happily guzzled the FUD of the uninformed consensus :)

I keep forgetting about Warhead and Wars... probably because I found Crysis to be a mediocre game (if beautiful) so I ignored the sequel or whatever the hell Warhead is.

Elitism's pointless. Provided it's physically and legally possible, they should release it on both PC and Consoles.

I am a console gamer, but that is mostly because I lack the proper equipment for my PC. I would PC game more often if I could.

As much as I would love to play Crysis on my Xbox, it is the fact that I have not played the first one that is troublesome. But because it will be available for consoles, I am assuming they'll fill in the story gap for us when it comes out.

Aliens invade earth and you're a marine in power armor sent in to save the day....trust me when I say you're not missing out on something you wouldn't expect from a game like this.

PC & Consoles, but obviously with optimisations for each platform. I'd rather not have to listen to all the arguing from the people who wouldn't shut up about MW2's problems all over again.

Great idea. After all, the more money Crytek can get, the more they can pour into what we really want out of them.
TO HIRE PROFESSIONAL WRITERS!
I was thinking more along the lines of TimeSplitters 4, but that's good too.

Makes me chuckle a little, PC gamers need taking down a peg or two.
Errr... why?
Because I have been subjected to no end of PC elitist snobbery lately by friends at work - not accusing anyone here

Once both sides stop their elitism, we can actually remember that we're all gamers and that we all play essentially the same things.
Well said.
If anyone has a problem with a game being on multiple consoles, it's just idiotic insecurity.
It doesn't make any console better or worse to have it available for everyone. It just opens the fanbase to more people. Which means you can talk to more people about a game you all enjoy. If anything, multi-platform releases build community, while platform exclusives divide us.

We're all gamers, regardless of platform.
You play on PC, I play on 360, Billy plays on his PS3, and Cedric plays on the Wii.
Let's just shut-up and play.

I got the first one for the PC when it was first released....though my computer sounded like a B-17 taking off, the performance was alright. I like the idea now though of it being sold to both consoles and PCs......it gives the people who don't want to spend top dollar for a behemoth of a machine to play the beautiful mofo without hiccups and/or toning down the settings. Now I would be annoyed if it was Console exclusive because....well personally I don't like seeing games that started on the PC abandon the platform and go only to consoles.....but I do like it when things are released across the board (except series that have been certain console exclusive for a long time...like I don't want to see a PS3/PC version of Gears of War 3 come out, and I don't want to see Uncharted series come out for Xbox360 and PC, they make the specific platform unique....but Im getting off topic)
Overall I am pumped to see it coming out for consoles as well as PC, I have an older computer (have not upgraded since...well the first Crysis came out) that I don't really game one anymore, and since I play Xbox360 and PS3 like there is no tomorrow it will give me a chance to check out Crysis 2 (looks awesome) how it was meant to be seen without spending a bit of $$ to upgrade my PC.
So yeah I vote across the board

Personally I am probably going to nab it for PS3 for the graphics boost (and I need to increase my PS3 library a bit more to catch up with my 360 collection)
