Exclusivity=less people who can play it=less money for the companies=less fun for everyone.
I'd like to play LittleBigPlanet and God of War, but I can't because I have a 360. I'm sure there's PS3 gamers who'd like to play some Xbox exclusives.
In conclusion, exclusives only serve to breed elitism.

Bring it to all audiences so that Crysis can be enjoyed by more people than it already is. The developers really can't lose since Crysis is extremely high quality and would sell well on any major platform.

You could have condensed your past 6 posts into 1 easily, especially the 4 in a row.
And yet I didn't. Go figure.
and that last double post was unnecessary too
boosting your post count?
I post things as I think of them. If you have a problem with that then I suggest you find a method of dealing with it other than bitching at me because that isn't going to change anything.

To release crysis on this generation of console would be a bit of a disappointment. But what do I care, I play PC and the last console I bought was a gamecube. LOL!

So you'd be OK with graphics to regress back to the N64 era and gameplay complexity to be reduced so that all new games can come out on the Nintendo DS? That would be better since more people can play it, right?
Graphics are not much of a big deal to me. As long as the game is fun I really don't care what type of graphics it has. I also think the storyline should be good as well.

If the developer wants to release Crysis 2 for the consoles than I see no problem with it. It is obvious they want to make more of a profit on this game than they did on Crysis 1.

NO FPS SHOULD EVER COME OUT ON CONSOLES EVER BECAUSE THE GAMEPLAY IS DUMBED DOWN AND A WASTE OF TIME FOR PC USERS!

Sometimes caps is necessary.
Any examples behind your trolling?
the nanosuit is reduced to 2 modes in the sequel, for exactly this reason.

I like the complexity of crysis 1's suit, re-mapped the guns to the number keys, then guns on another part of keyboard, it is great.
(however, you can customize the suit's 2 modes, but its only 2 modes, which means we won't get to hear 'MAXIMUM STRENGTH', 'MAXIMUM ARMOUR', and the like.)
I really don't think that dumbs it down, in fact, since you are forced to choose only two powers, it keeps the protagonist from being overpowered, and makes the game more difficult. I mean, it's like saying that a shooter where you can only carry two weapons at a time is a dumbed down version of a game where you could carry every weapon in the world on your back.

I really don't think this was a change made specifically for consoles, considering that there are plenty of console game which give you a crapload of powers (prototype, infamous, etc), and yet you're still able to switch between them fairly easily.
Just wanna point out that the two suit modes, are essentially a bunch of suit functions together.

So instead of being able to switch mode to mode you're using bunch of powers together, from which is actually dumbing it down to HULK MODE and NINJA MODE. Nothing more, nothing less. There are less choices as the original and a such dumbing it down as each choice does a bunch of abilities for you.

Just my 2 cents on that.

Graphics won't be as good as the first but I can live with it.
They are already...

OT: PC and consoles. Crytek will still push the shit out of the PC version, and will naturally include graphical effects that are too much for the consoles. With that though, developing for the consoles too ensures that the engine needs to be as optimised as possible.

Win/win.

My PC can't run it on lowest without imploding first
I have a 360, and since I don't need to worry with hardware (graphic cards, processors, monitors) I find it an awesome idea.

It would basically be doing away with a ton of features of the game or editing them into a format that breaks the flow and spoils the game.

I say keep it PC, keep it good.

At least on consoles it wil be guarranteed to run properly, I have to play with a window the size of a gameboy screen in order to get the 1st one to work on my laptop.

I agree, graphics are not a big deal to me either, but they are for a lot of people and I think the argument of "more people can play it = better" is too simplistic. I don't particularly have a problem with Crysis 2 on consoles because of some desire for PC exclusives. It's when the PC version loses out because of it I have a problem, and judging from recent games that have made the crossover I see it as a case of being guilty until proven innocent.

I think they are welcome to it. It is far too focussed on graphics. As far as I am concerned, in the graphics department, Less is More.

I think it's a fantastic idea. Opening an exclusive to a broader audience allows more popularity, more sales, and more fun. My PC can't run much more the Left 4 Dead 2, so getting the opportunity to experience groundshaking technology on a platform that can handle intense capabilities is exciting.

To all of you PC elitists (Yes, if you're saying that it should be PC only because it will spoil the game or the graphics won't be as good otherwise, you are elitist) why don't you shove off for a little while? Your experience of the game won't be changed at all, and console-gamers will get to have fun. Are you so very arrogant that you'll cry out when people who don't have the money to blow on an outrageous computer get a treat?

As for the "FPS are dumbed down on consoles" argument, as someone who has played (and plays) both on the PC and my Xbox, I can say that you are wrong, and you are wrong hard. While the ability to hotkey commands and weapons is always nice, it's not like that's a core element of the game - the keyboard and mouse controls offer a wider variety of control schemes, but that does not make it superior. Personally, I handle analog sticks far better than a mouse - and unlike the mouse, I don't have to pick up my stick, move it to the opposite side, and then drag it over again to turn around. Outstanding.

I like both, and it's better to expand, because some people's computers will explode if they try and run this. So a PS3/xBox can run this and everybody can enjoy it not just the PC's. I personally would play on PC, just because of the advantage. Although my PC would blow up into dust if I try and run this on Low. I can run Crysis on High.

I've no issue with Crysis 2 coming out on PC and consoles, so long as they don't dumb it down for console gamers. Not to sound elitist or anything, but IMO it feels a lot more responsive and, well, immersive for me when I'm playing it via mouse and keyboard instead of with a game-pad. If I go back and play Crysis with a game-pad, it will not feel right at all.

I don't want to see a repeat of the Deus Ex: Invisible War situation.

How can you guarantee that the PC experience won't be changed? There are plenty of games that have been negatively influenced as a direct result of going multi platform.

And there are plenty of games that haven't been influenced as a direct result of going multi-platform, negative nancy. Besides, have you named any of those games yet? I may have missed them while scanning the topic, but you don't seem to have actually supplied anything noteworthy to the discussion.

No, I can't guarantee that PC gamers won't find something to cry about - But you can't guarantee they will.

I wouldn't even need to stick the disc in my computer. Just looking at Crysis 2 for the PC would send my laptop into a fit of madness and strange noises.

PS3 it is.

This. Just add Rachet and Clank, and Metroid, and I'm happy.

About Crysis though, I just find it's now not a question of "should we?", more of " We have to." With gaming companies starting to feel the strain, any source of income is required now. It doesn't matter who your affliated with, be it PC or console, it's just the colour of your money that counts right now.
