obviously SLEEP but that's not on the poll? this must only concern under 18's i take it... with parents :S ? because at univeristy courses you'd miss a class 90% time due to 1) class not needed/optional 2) party too hard/late night= SLEEP

I go to the university. Everything is voluntary, so I'm currently avoiding all IT-classes because I find the IT I'm having right now too easy.

I can't afford to miss class! I'm in university! I paid to get to those classes!
Sad you have to pay. I mean, I paid next to nothing.. approx. 80 dollars for the first half-year.
Great for you, I have to pay 2 500$ for one semester...That doesn't count food or lodging.

I'm feeling lazy, tired, etc. In fact, I skipped today because I was too tired to get up.
Good Luck with life, it's NOT going to get easier or less hard you know
Thanks for the advice. /sarcasm

Really though, I don't even miss classes often at all, I usually only miss days when I'm really sick (like the flu or something) or I'm just plain dead tired. Actually, we're allowed a certain amount of sick days in my school (about 6 I believe) per semester, so if I missed only 1 or 2 days by the end of the semester, I occasionally take a day off to relax. Don't take things that I say so serious, you'll just end up confused or angry.

Have a nice day.

The only time I ever missed a morning class was when I went out on the lash the night before and woke up on a friends couch across the other side of town. Her mother was not happy.

Whoops...

I never missed a class in high school unless I was sick, and the only time I missed a class in college was because I just had surgery. Otherwise, I'm in the classroom when I'm supposed to be. Sometimes I'll leave early though. I just can't sit through 3 straight hours of math. It makes my brain hurt.

If i miss a class, it's mostly because I'm sick. Or if I only have like 1 class that day (not if it's something important, like math or physics though)

Ouch. I believe that education should be free, at least at public universities.

At Uni, I missed one lecture because I'd been in the queue for accommodation for five hours by that point and I wasn't going to give up my place in the queue, miss my chance to get a room and have to sleep on a bench during my second year and I missed one because the dudes on my corridor had been partying loudly all night so I got next to no sleep. Nothing short of nuclear war could have woken me for a 9 am lecture at that point. Also, it was a lecture on feminism.

I used to miss loads at school because of illness and the teachers tended to send me home at lunch after a morning of throwing up. (I have tablets now though. :) )

I don't like missing classes because there's bugger-all else to do. Being too sick to go to school meant being to sick to do anything else either. At least there were things to keep me occupied at school.

My wallet would love that! However, our education system for public schools is a total mess (Like any other). I wouldn't like to have the crappy programs contrary to the good programs here.

I'm pretty sure that I'm running around $15,000 a semester. $800 of that is on campus food, beyond that I'm living off campus, and I do eat here most of the time.

Only when I'm extremely sick or I have other things to take care of. I've rarely had absent days in high school.

Well when I went to regular school, I would frequently just walk out of the building because I was bored of it. Sometimes my mom would even just say, "You don't have to go to school today"

Most of the time, I'd just go to the bathroom and wait for the bell to ring, then when everyone's out of the halls, I'd climb out of the window and leave.

That was fun...
